I'm getting a dog, finally!!! If there's anything I need to know, this is the place to tell me! Advice, fun facts, favorite breed, important traits, or even pros and cons! I just wanna be really really prepared for our new family member!

If you're thinking of getting a small dog, please don't from experience they're usually dumber than the larger breeds. Getting a mix is best since you get all the pros (and some cons) of every breed! I recommend a lab or retriever and do get it spayed or neutered. As for toys I recommend some squeaky things and get some hard to destroy ones preferably made of rope. Your dog might like to gnaw on shoes, if so get a pair of shoes just for them. When their young they will probably See More▼

If it gives you a hard time or does something you don't want it to do; beat it. x3 it's the only way it'll learn. And if you want it to learn quickly; beat it HARD :P

It's called a squirt gun! Oh my God, you'll injure it badly or make it scared of you! Hitting or kicking or injuring it IS animal abuse! That is the DEFINITION of animal abuse!

xD lol it's not abuse :3 it's teaching it and it's probably the only way it'll learn. you don't just do nothing. If you do nothing the dog will think it's okay and do it again.
