The dad took off his neclace.
"well years and years ago, a man found this necklace, he decided to take it to a blacksmith to see what kind of metal it is, and the blacksmith said, "this my sir, is a truth necklace, and who ever wears it must tell the truth, and must pass it on to their first child." "intersting" the man said. years later the man gave his first child the necklace, and years after the child did the same thing and it went on like that until my dad gave the necklace to me, the end"
