Pack

Chapter One

I stood on the edge of my territory feeling the wind wrap around my muzzle and wind its way through my fur. The sun was high in the sky and I could feel its warmth on my pelt. I should be getting back to camp. They probably will be wondering where I am. I could catch a couple of loads of prey and that might make up for it. Suddenly I caught a whiff of a StormPack enemy fighting dog! On my territory! I raced back to camp to tell Crystalstar, our leader, to go investigate.
When I got back to camp, Crystalstar was grooming himself outside his den. I ran up to him and told him that I had heard a StormPack fighting dog deep inside our territory. Crystalstar told me to gather my mentor, Dewclaw, Runningflower, Spottedpool, Whitebramble, and  Redpaw.
By the time I had told them that Crystalstar wanted to see them, the StormPack fighting dog was entering the camp. As soon as he did so, I noticed that he was limping. I told Crystalstar that he wasn’t a threat to our pack anymore and that he probably needed our help.
Turns out, I was right. The StormPack fighting dog explained to us that he came in peace, and that StormPack was in danger. DarkPack and SeaPack were attacking StormPack’s camp and StormPack would be wiped out if we didn’t help them.

I am so excited! What  would a battle be like?! Will anyone die? I certainly hope not! Will I become a fighting dog after the battle? With all of these questions spinning through my head, I raced through the underbrush after my pack leader to help save StormPack.
