Chapter 2: Running away

When I woke up it was just past dawn. I opened my drawer and grabbed the paper from last night shakily and with tears forming.I was going to do it..the one thing I never thought I would do. I wiped the tears away and looked up with determination in my eyes. I jumped out of bed and quickly packed the necessities in a black backpack before changing into a red v neck shirt and black jeggings along with a black loose Adidas jacket with red accents and black sneakers. I looked at my mirror and for the first time in a while, gave a genuine smile. I grabbed the backpack and opened my window letting cool air stream in before looking down at the ground...and jumping out.

The wind was refreshing as I ran outside and away from the house. I ran to the park spinning occasionally. I felt so free as if a huge burden was lifted.I could see people passing by looking at me wandering why I was alone and so happy, but I didn't care.I stopped and saw a girl around the age of 21 with brown hair with..blue streaks? I just stared. She was talking with two boys. Both were blonde except one had red streaks whilst the other had green. Then I noticed something and my heart beat faster for a second. They all had red eyes.

I ran over to the pond to check my eye colors when I saw that they were still silverish blue however now there was a tinge of red and they had black triangles under them just like dad...I looked back at them and instantly knew what they were..vampires. They were vampires.I turned around and started walking off into town with my head down, when I felt a sudden need to feed...on blood.

My vampire instincts kicked in and I looked up at the other humans and saw one particular boy walking on his own in a secluded part of town. I grinned and made a hissing sound before going after my prey. Instantly I was behind him before sinking my fangs into his neck. My eyes widened as I pulled back realizing what I had done.

I turned around and ran leaving the boy there bewildered and slightly wincing. I ran away to the forest surrounding the town taking one last glimpse at the boy who was now unconscious  from blood loss and then I bumped into someone or something. I looked up and saw the girl from before.I stepped back in fear before heading in the other direction. "wait!" She shouted as I ran off but i ignored her and ran into the depths of the forest tears flowing from my eyes, What have I done? I'm a monster..

I sat down on a log and looked at the ground before looking up and singing softly. 'What did I, Ever do? To make you, hide the truth? I don't know why, but theres, one thing I know..My whole world, was built on a lie, And no matter how, many times I try, to forgive,and forget, I just can't put this in, the past, not yet..
You lied to me, you hid the truth, So I could live, a normal life, but I just don't know why, all these years, as they passed by, you never told me, and now I see, crystal clear..My whole world was built on a lie, and no matter how, many times I try, to forgive, and forget, I won't just put this, in the past,' I stopped when I heard steps. Who could be in the forest? I climbed a tree as the steps became louder.

I looked down from the tree staying silent. The girl from before was looking around. I was surprised she followed me this deep into the forest but I stayed quiet. She was a vampire..but then again..so was I. Suddenly the boys from before came into view. " Serena, what are you doing and why are you in the forest? What if werewolves came?!" The one with red streaks said. The girl or Serena looked annoyed a bit. " Hawk, I'm sure werewolves won't come, and  i was trying to hunt" She replied. "We are in a forest, this is basically werewolf territory!" Hawk exclaimed. I accidentally moved causing the leaves to make a rustling sound. "what was that?" The one with green streaks asked.

Please don't notice me..please don't notice me! Hawk stood still for a second. "Werewolf..and a vampire?..the vampire may be fighting the werewolf but the scents coming from around here..." Hawk finally said. The boy with green streaks and Serena started looking around for any signs. Hawk started walking off and just at that moment..I fell of the branch..right when Hawk turned around and saw me. "Falcon, Serena, we have found ourselves the 'spy'" Hawk said fangs showing. Serena and Falcon appeared and looked at me.

"smells like a vampire..and a werewolf and..human?" Falcon said looking at me. Serena stepped forward." Hi, i'm Serena, whats your name?" She asked me. I just looked at her."Aria.." I said standing up and stepping back a bit."So..what are you?" Falcon asked. I hesitated before saying that I saw a werepire apparently. Hawk looked at me for a second. I looked up at the sky and then remembered I had nowhere to stay since I ran away. "I need to get going" i said quickly before running out of the forest and into town, but then I saw smoke rising from where my house was.
