Final Goodbyes and The Train

My parents arrived in the waiting room, eyes wet with tears.

"You have a chance Dawn" my father said and looked me in the eyes.
"I agree with your father, if you try hard enough you'll be coming home." My mother agreed.

"I will try. I promise, I have a strategy and I'm going to come home" that was my promise,
and I intended to keep it.

The guards came and made my parents leave the room.
I sat alone until the guards came back and told me it was time to board the train.

I thought over my strategy as I walked. It was pretty brilliant if I dare say so myself.

I would ally with someone who would be useful, help me a bit.
I wouldn't allow myself to get attached though.

Once the majority of the people were dead except me and Tristan, we would have to kill our ally.

I didn't want to do that, but my only other plan was to ally with Tristan and pretend to fall in love just like Katniss and Peeta.
That might work, I thought. It would help me get sponsors.

If my alliance plan didn't work I guess I'd just have to pretend to fall in love.

I snapped out of my thoughts once I realized the train was starting up.
I tapped Tristan on the shoulder, "I have a plan." I whispered.

Tristan turned toward me, obviously intrigued.
I told him both my plans, he agreed.

I think we have a good chance of survival!
