You're wicked at heart, but people look up to you as the leader, everyone knows when you're in command, so you take them advantages to make stuff and turn them around to your liking

You're neither a girl-girl or a tomboy! You don't mind if things are girly or boyish, you just like being you.

While you and Sapphire were talking, Hotaru ran to where Shadow was sitting in the living room.
“What do you want?” Shadow ordered. Are you enjoying ___ Being here? He nods. Do you think she's cute? Shadow paused mid nod and shot a glance at them “Don't try that with me" Hotaru bit their lip and wiggled their eyebrows. Shadow face flushed red, with anger? No.
“Don't." Hotaru stuck their tongue out and ran off into the kitchen. Shadow rolled his eyes.
“Well, I hate to cut the night short, but we've got to go.” Sapphire said. Hotaru ran over to hug you. They smiled at you before running over to say goodbye to Shadow. She wiggled their eyebrows at him again.
You seem to make them smile a lot.
“I know" Hotaru shook her head. That's not what they meant and Shadow knew it. Shadow nudged her “Get going.” She sprinted back to Sapphire.
Everyone finished saying their goodbyes as the two made their way out. Time for bed.
You sat on the sofa and waited for Shadow to come over. It had become routine, Shadow would come sit and talk with you until you passed out. He made a beeline for the kitchen. After a few minutes, he came back with two mugs of hot chocolate.
“I recall you telling me that you loved hot chocolate growing up.” He said as he handed you one of the mugs and took a seat. You nodded, surprised that he remembered. You took the mug and sipped on the drink. It wasn't too hot, but it was rich and creamy. You signed thanks and he nodded “You like living here?” You nodded, sitting your mug on the coffee table. You all have been very nice to me, I am extremely thankful.
“We are all happy you decided to stay.” There was a pause before you began signing again. I want this job at Dana's. Shadow nodded
"I know.” His gaze floated over to your belongings on the side table. I know.

That night after dinner, you listened to everyone chatting and laughing. After nearly everyone went to bed you and Shadow sat on the sofa and watched TV for a bit. You were getting a little more comfortable here. Everyone were very nice and accepting. They didn't make it a huge deal that you didn't have a home, and you liked that. Can I ask you a question? You were getting better at signing, Shadow nodded. Was it difficult for you all when you came to earth?
"Wasn't easy. Humans weren't very accepting of our kind...many still aren't, but we're changing heir minds." Where do you work? "We protect people and get paid for it, I don't see the point. I join in for the money" So your a superhero? Shadow chuckles. Because you saved me. He pauses and turns back to the TV. "You were different" You see a faint blush on his muzzle. You tried to hide a yawn, but it slipped past. Shadow stood up. “Your tired. Sleep tight __.” You smiled and shook your head, signing goodnight to him. He flipped the light off as he made his way to his room. Lying on your back, you pulled the blanket up around your shoulders and recalled the days events. You couldn't remember ever smiling this much. You hoped this new found happiness would follow you into sleep. This wasn't the case.

It was only then you notice Shadow still sitting.
"I have some more questions" You nod and he sits closer to you. "Were you always...quiet?” He wanted to say mute, but didn't want to sound rude. You shook your head. "Your family...did they hurt you?” Too personal, way too personal. You turned away from him. "sorry.” He muttered. You breathed heavy for a moment, then lifted your hands to sign. Why do you care? He looked stern. “I told you earlier, nobody should have to live out there.” Crossing his arms, leaning back and he looked at you “Everyone likes you, and I know they wouldn't trust someone unless they're good.” He was shifting his thoughts onto his friends. It still didn't explain why HE cared. You pull your legs up and rest your head on your knees. Shadow continued, “I know that there is some... distrust here, but I want to help.” He tapped you on your arm to get your attention. You look over at him. He nods “And that's not a lie.” You couldn't help but smile. "I'm going to let sleep. Tomorrow's gonna be a big day.” What do you mean? "you'll see.” He waved it off and started down the hall “Night.” Laying down on the couch, you wrapped the blanket around your body. You stared up at the ceiling for a long time, taking in your current situation. It would be so easy to just grab your things and slip out. You would be long gone by morning, they wouldn't even know where to look. Nobody would ever know. Instead, you rolled onto your side and buried your face into the sofa cushion, letting sleep take over.

He was doing the right thing, right? Shadow walked towards the kitchen looking out into the living area where you slept. You seemed very nervous about anyone knowing about your predicament. He looked over at the things he had grabbed from the alley. Taking the blanket in his hands, he quietly unraveled the bundle and decided to check out what items you were keeping. There were a few cans of food, most of them expired. A few articles of clothing, some of them looking a little worn, he made a mental note to take you clothes shopping. He set these things aside and found a small box. Glancing over at the couch to make sure you were still asleep, he picked it up gingerly and turned it around in his hands. He didn't like snooping, but this box was well taken care of, this was something you obviously cared for. He sighed and looked over at you again, just to make sure, then decided to open it up.At the bottom lay what looked like a necklace. Shadow took one finger and lifted the delicate chain up and out of the box. At the end dangled a heart-shaped charm with a bright red essence swirling around it. It was mesmerising, and he eventually had to force his gaze away from it, laying it back in the box and closing the lid. Setting it back on the table, he stared at all of the items scattered on the blanket. Was this really everything you had? He jumped slightly at the sound of you stirring. Walking over to the couch, he saw you had absentmindedly curl up onto your side. He grabbed a nearby blanket and covered you up.

You pretended to know where you were going as you both walked into town not saying anything. Shadow looked at you , a dark expression back on his face.
“Where do you live?” He asked. You weren't sure how to answer. You stared at the ground for what seemed like forever. “What aren't you telling me?” Your eyes met his again. Shadow knew something was up, he wasn't stupid. Giving in, you made a motion for him to follow you. Once you arrive, you turn down the alley where you had been attacked.
“Hmph.” Shadow muttered. You could tell he was being cautious.
“When I first saw Knuckles take, I could tell you were very underweight which is why this morning at breakfast you wanted to eat everything, but didn't want to make a scene.” He spoke softly now. You really wanted to disappear. Tell him to forget he ever saw you, run off and find another place to live. Shadow sensed this, his hand gripping your shoulder.
“How long have you been out here?” He asked. "on the streets.” A year. He stared at your belongings on the ground again, then knelt down and gathered them all up in the blanket, tying it all together. He tossed it over his shoulder and extended his hand out to you.
“You shouldn't be living out here.” He said. You looked at his hand, then his face, and back to his hand. He tilted his head ever so slightly, giving you a stern look.
“This is no place for a human...No place for anyone.” He said. You couldn't look him in the eye. He held out his hand again. “I'm not leaving you. You might as well come with me willingly.” You knew he was serious. You took his hand and heard him sigh in relief.
“I know your scared.” He said to you, looking straight into your eyes. “But you will be much happier once you don't have to do this anymore.” Tears threatened to spill.
“Hold on tight and keep your eyes shut” Was all you heard before he picked you up and whisked you away.

Shadow couldn't get a good read on you. He knew something was amiss, but he couldn't quite put his finger on what it was, and he knew you wouldn't tell him if he asked. He had watched you while you were eating you food, you looked so happy and so desperate to eat everything but you must have been holding back, why? He had watched as Hatoru taught you ASL. You seemed fine right then, but Shadow noticed little things that the others seemed to overlook. These strange looks came over you at times and you would look confused or depressed in some moments. He wanted to find out why, and maybe, just maybe, be the reason you did smile.
“Hey Shadow! Come help with the dishes!" Sonic stuck his head out the back door. Shadow sighed as he followed him inside.

You couldn't sleep. At one point you could feel someone in the room. Footsteps approached the bed.
“I know you're awake.”
You forced yourself to look at the figure beside the bed.
It was another hedgehog, this one male, black. "Didn't mean to scare you" He admitted. "I was curious to see who everyone was fussing over.” You blink. "Don't you speak?" He had a frown on his face. You shook your head. For the past year, no one talked to you, so why bother? He grunts. "I'm Shadow, ultimate life form." You nod and make a mental note of his name. You both stare off into the distence for a while before Shadow nudged your foot. "Have you met Sonic yet?" You shake your head. "Good, lucky you" You giggled a little. "So, you can make noise..." He inspects clearly amused he made you laugh. You kept laughing quietly, not wanting to be loud. He got off the bed and turned to face you again, his face black and cold. "the echidna told me that they found you in an alley.” You nodded. "Why were you in an alley?” You looked away from him, spying a notepad and pen on the nightstand. You grabbed them and wrote. I was out for a walk. He studied your face a moment. “Were you on your way home?” You nodded. "Sapphire will let you go soon" He says “she might also want you to stay a little longer. She has a thing for helping people, so she'll want to know you're safe.” Your heart sank slightly. You didn't want to be a burden on them. Shadow seemed to notice the shift in your mood, and he laid a hand on your bed, “You'll be home soon" You wrote “Thanks” down on the paper. Shadow nods. He walked to the door and opened it, looking back at you before stepping out into the hallway. “ring the bell if want someone to talk to” He left. The smile wouldn't leave your face but you knew you shouldn't get too attached. Hopefully tomorrow Sapphire would let you leave. You didn't want them figuring out that you were homeless.

< You *think* : He picked dare! Shadow picked dare! > < Sonic : Okay Shadow... Pick a card. > Shadow groans and picks a card. < Shadow *reads the card* : Go kiss the person you love. > Shadow blushes. All the guys are shouting or knocking on the table. < Shadow : Okay... I'll do it. > < Silver : She's in Milea's house? > < Shadow : No. T_T > He gets up and goes in the living room... He sees you. < Shadow : What are you doing? > < You : I... Hum... Milea asked me to bring her chocolate chip cookies! ^^' > Shadow looks at you, then at the kitchen. < Shadow *whisper* : Go out! > < You : What? > < Shadow : Go outside! I'll explain to you later! > < You : But... Why? > Shadow pushes you outside. You're now alone at night, in Milea's backyard. < You : Wow. Thanks T_T. > Shadow appears on the other side a few seconds after. You run to him and ask : < You : So... What's going on? > Shadow says nothing. He looks at the kitchen window. < Shadow : The guys are looking at us... Come with me. > < You : Us? > < Shadow : Stop asking questions and follow me. > < You : Okay... Okay... > You follow him out of the backyard. You're in the woods. < You : What now? > Shadow looks at you and grabs your arms. He approaches you closer to his head and... He kisses you.

< Milea : He what? > < You : Sh-Shadow kissed me! > < Milea : On the cheek? > < You : No! A real kiss! > < Milea : ^3^ That's sooo cute... > < You : But I'm mad he did it because of a ''Truth or Dare''... > < Milea : Guys are like this! >

< Shadow : What are you doing here, '___'? > You look at him, embarrassed and scared. < Me : N-Nothing ^^' > < Shadow : T_T Don't joke. I found this on the ground this morning. > He shows your shorts. < You *turn bright red* : Hum... That's not mine... > < Shadow *smiles* : No? So who slept with me last night? Mister invisible? > < You *blush harder* : Hum... > Shadow smiles at you with an evil smile and says : < Shadow : If you manage to pull it out of my hands, I will not do anything to you, if not... *evil smile* You'll see what! > He closes the door and you run to him. But every time you are close to having your shorts, he settles and laugh. After 10 minutes, you still don't have your shorts. < Shadow : You didn't manage to have them! > You growl and jump to him. You both fall on the ground and you take your shorts. < You : Yep! I have them *smiles* > You get up and look at Shadow. He growls and gets up too. < Shadow : That was nice... But next time I'll win! > < You : Im not sure of this... > He looks at you and give you a hug. But when you're giving him a hug... < You *thinks* : Revenge! > You get out your pencil and you draw a mustache on his face. < Shadow : What the... A mustache?!? > < You : 2 points for '___', 0 for Shadow! > You laugh and get out of the room. You run to Milea and join her in the livingroom.
