The Stanley Theory
In 'Dreamscaperers' we see a memory of Stan boxing. On the bleachers there is a boy who resembles Stan reading a book. The fandom calls this boy 'Stanley' and says he is Stanford's twin.
I won't go into many other details. But this theory doesn't make sense for one reason: Who would name two kids names that would get them the same nickname? Stanford = Stan. Stanley = Stan
Big problem right there, fandom.
In the newest episode, 'Not What he Seems' we find out See More that a person named Stan Pines died in a car crash, leading Dipper and Mabel to beleive 'Stan' isn't really 'Stan' which is true. At the end of the episode, a man who we have seen cameos of before steps out of the portal. He has six fingers on one of his hands, seen when he picks up Journal 1. 'Stan' says this man is the Author of the Journals, his brother.
The man is Stan Pines.
There can't be a Stanley.
The portal was used to bring Stanford Pines back from wherever he was, most likely the 'after-death' place.
