Chapter 2

I brought her back to my 'home'. The old shack death had given me a while back. It's not the most cosy place...or..it isn't really a place at all, but it's home. She didn't seem to be waking up. I got back to my work, it's all I can do.

About a hour or so later I heard the, what remained, of my sofa behind me shuffle.
"You're awake." I spoke. Pushing myself away from my desk I swivled my chiar to face her. Her large eyes refused to leave my own. I see right through her. Fear and...curiosity?
"Who are you?" She asked sitting up slowly still transfixed. I lowered his head, closing my eyes.
"I am Negro-"
"I know your name," She stated interuptiing me. I open my eyes to glare at her. The nerve of some people, doesn't she know what I am? What I could do? "I meant, what are you?" She's smart though.
"I'm a demon, I work for death himself and-"
"And why am I here?" She interupted again making me growl turning the chair away so i'm no longer facing her. Best to show her. I picked up two sheets of paper from on top of one of the piles and set them down on my lap. Maybe this should scare her, put her in her place.
"Death has requested I get a new 'partner in crime' you could say, as my last one...left us." I couldn't help but tremble in anger. "And, you Lilli, have caught my intrest." I swotted the paper before turning it to face the girl.
"This is you, correct?" It was a picture of her. Her details were along side it.
"Yes." I nodded and picked up the other piece of paper.
"Yet this is also you, but at the same the same time, it's not." The other piece of paper shows her in her dark form. She visabily winced from the sight of the picture. "Your personality changes are unique, intresting and thus why I would like you to be my new partner." I pushed myself out of the chair and walked towards the corner of the room. Lilli sniggers.
"Never." I chuckled.
"I'm not asking YOU. I'm asking HER." I teleported in front of her, my eyes roll back into my head as a black aura surrounds me. I senced her fear grow stronger. As quick as it appeared it shooted towards her knockuing her off the sofa. Slowly let myself go back to normal and watch as she spazzems on the floor. My magic sinks into her skull and she finally lays still her eyes wide. Finally she lets out an ear piercing scream and her eyes close.

Her eyes opened again. She's smiling. She stands up facing away form me giggling in a high pitch. I walk towards her carefully.
"Lilli?" I ask. She turns arounds her grin wide.
"Joining you, you say? I like the sound of that!"
