Chapter 2.

Video Games And Sandwiches

Something soft nuzzles against your sleeping form and you wrap your arm around your favourite little pup. You sit up and stretch feeling the dog fall off you and land on your bed. You scratch Lucky behind her ear before deciding to get up.
“__! Jackson is here with Teddy!” Your mother calls from down the stairs.
“Coming mum!” You throw on an oversized jumper and leggings before basically skidding down the stairs. Heading to the kitchen you see the toaster ready to pop. Tying your hair in a ponytail you catch the toast in mid-air and head to the main room.

You greet Jackson and Teddy with a smile and a wave.
“What’s up?” You ask and he shrugs.
“Teddy wouldn’t stop barking until we mentioned Lucky so I thought they should hang out or Teddy will drive everyone crazy!” You chuckle and nod petting the large dog.
“Want to go back to mine?”
“Sure” You scoop a certain hyper active puppy into your arms and head over to the house opposite your own with Teddy and Jack following.

Lucky jumps out of your arms as soon as everyone arrives in the house and play fights with Teddy. It quiet comical actually, a small dog vs a big dog, Lucky is winning strangely.
“They sure became friends quickly” You mutter swiping a loose hair behind your ear. You turn to Jack to see he’s look at you, he smiles.
“Yeah, I have to admit it’s kind of cute though” He chuckles and flops himself down on his sofa. “What do you want to do?” You look around the room as you sit next to him and spy a shelf full of games.
“Video games?”
“You play video games?” He asks bewildered.
“Sometimes”
“But you’re a girl!” You give him a glare.
“Why is everyone so damn sexist here?” Realising his mistake the boy winced.
“Sorry…what game do you want to play?” He kneels in front of the TV and grabs the first game he sees. “Mortal combat?”
"Alright!" You clap as he hands you a controller and goes to turn on the TV. You smirk.
"I'm sooo going to kick your ass!" Jack freezes and chuckles before turning to you.
"There's no way i'm going to lose to you __, i'm kind of an expert" He sits next you on the sofa the sparkle in his eye never fading.
"Wanna bet?" You lean towards the screen letting your competitive spirit take over.
"Let the best gamer win!"

"I can't believe it" Jack muttered staring at the screen blankly. "You beat me" You start jumping on his sofa in triumph.
"I told you!" You cheer.
"Yeah, yeah. I get it. Get down from there you doof" He mumbles and you chuckle bouncing on the sofa.
"Can I get a prize?" Yout tilt your head slightly staring at Jackson with the best puppy eyes look you could muster. He looks around the room and eyes his black blazer. He throws it at you.
"Happy?" You laugh putting on.
"Yes, very warm" You lower your voice as much as you can to match his tone. "Hello, i'm Jackson and I wear black blazers with jeans because I think i'm cool" He laughes sntching his blazer back.
"I don't think i'm cool" he puts his blazer back on dusting off the sleeves, "I am cool." You roll your eyes as Teddy and Lucky waddle up to the two of you. Must be lunch time.

After making your way to the kitchen with Jack while Teddy and Lucky trail behind you fill up two bowls of dog food and give them to the two grateful pups.
"Grilled cheese?" Jack asks grabiing the bread, butter and cheese
"Grilled cheese" You agree. Soon the two of you make a good system of you buttering the bread and putting of cheese and Jack grilling the bread and cheese. You worked like this until there were four grilled cheese sandwichs as none of you remember having a good breakfast. "This is awesome!" You inform Jack biting into your grilled cheese. "You a good cook?"
"I'd like to think so as I cook pretty often so i knew the basics."
"You'd make a wonderful wife" You tease and notice the blush dusting his cheeks. You laugh. "I'm only messing with you, I think it's great you know how to cook, you know more then me from the looks of it anyway." He laughed as he took another bite of out his sandwich.

Teddy and Lucky played for a few more hours so you and Jackson talked some more but when you had to go Teddy and Jack saw you off at the doorstep.
"See you at school!" He calls with a smile waving you goodbye. You pick up Lucky and walk home the smile not leaving your face. You feel you've made your first friend here.
