The Nest

"Well.. Alright. But you had better behave yourself, Stanley and Bonnie.", Terror Claw sighed. Bonnie felt shock rush through her body. For real? Was this really happening? Yes. It was. "Where do you live?", Bonnie asked nervously. "You'll be fine!", Stanley said excitedly. "Well... Okay!", Bonnie chirped. Terror Claw lifted she and Stanley into the air in between his talons as he began to flap out of the sky. Bonnie watched as the ground went farther away beneath her. This was what it was like to fly. "Daddy, may I try again? I won't mess up again! I promise!", Stanley asked Terror Claw. "You promise? Well.. okay.. But be safe, please. I can't afford to lose my son.", Terror Claw muttered. His claws began to let go of Stanley, who began to flap wildy. It seemed to be working, though. Stanley was flying! Could she do that too? She began to wriggle in Terror Claw's talons...

    "Bonnie? Don't try yet, please. Your too young. Stanley is just able to fly. Your flight feathers haven't even begun to grow yet.", Terror Claw warned. But it was too late, Bonnie slipped out from his claws. "Bonnie! No!", Terror Claw called as he began to dive after her. Bonnie had forgotten everything Stanley was doing as she fell through the sky, flailing. She had no idea which way was up or down as she twisted and flipped in the air. Suddenly, everything went still. She could feel claws around her body once again. Then heard Terror Claw's voice: "Bonnie.", he scolded. "Don't do that! You almost died, and so did I. You must be more careful of what could happen! Flying is dangerous. If we had hit the ground, none of us would have survived.", Terror Claw said, disappointed.


   Bonnie felt shame rushing through her body. She shouldn't have done that. She looked from Terror Claw to Stanley, who looked rather terrified. Bonnie was too dizzy to reply, then she felt blackness wash over her vision. She was now flying over a canopy of trees. "Wow..", she echoed. She really could fly!
