Chapter 3.
A Long Flight

A Long Flight

As Bonnie soared through the sky, she saw life beneath her. Squirrels were eating nuts and climbing trees, bees and butterflies were collecting pollen from flowers. Other birds were flying and nesting, and next to her was a swarm of dragonfly. Bonnie let out a long happy shriek, as she felt wind through her feathers. She dove into a cave tunnel, crystals in some corners and on the roof of the cave. An owl flew over her, hooting, "Hello!", as Bonnie went on. She reached the end, finding herself in a desert. It was nice and warm, and next to the cave was a small pond. She drank happily, feeling the water pour down her beak. She blinked, then opened her eyes in a different world.

"Is she okay?", she heard Stanley's nervous voice behind her. She lifted her head. She was dreaming. "What happened?", Bonnie asked. What made her fall asleep in the middle of the day? "You passed out when you were caught from falling.", Terror Claw soothed. Memory began to return to her as she lifted her head. "I must've gotten dizzy and sick.", Bonnie decided. She stood up, then padded out of the patch of leaves. She was under a lush forest, she saw a tucan. He looked like he meant nothing. So Bonnie looked on. She saw a berry bush, two squirrels sharing a nut, and some deer hopping around, eating from the berry bush. She glanced back at Terror Claw and Stanley, who was tucked under his father's wing. "Well..", Bonnie tempted. "Who wants to play a game?", Bonnie sure wasn't going to sit there and look at all the fun possibilities. "Me!", Stanley chirped. Then they ran off into the forest.

Stanley began to chase her, as they giggled through the forest. Bonnie twisted, then chased him. She managed to catch up, but Stanley whipped around and sent her flying. She laughed as she slid across the soft earth beneath her. She turned around and found a raspberry bush behind her. She gobbled up two of the berries, then charged for Stanley again.
