Chapter 2 ~ The Journey

When they finally landed the kidnapper was there and went after Veronica the second she got of the jet. Her friends went into action to protect Veronica and succeeded, but the kidnapper escaped.
“Did anyone see his face?” asked Alex.
“No he had a mask on.” replied Erica.
“He must have been one of Adriana’s helpers. The question is, how did he know we were going to land here and how did he even know we were going to be flying there anyways?” Veronica asked.
“How do we even know the kidnapper was a boy? As far as I know, girls can be kidnappers and assassins too. Their just as ruthless.” Replied Alex.
“Yeah, I know plenty of girls that would fit the role perfectly,” said Heather.
Sydney, the only person in our group that had an ounce of tracking experience, said, “We should hurry up and follow the kidnapper’s trail before it gets too hard to read.”
“Sure,” replied Veronica. “Um... let’s go!”
As the group set off in the direction the kidnapper had headed, Veronica thought about what her father must me going through right now. Had Adriana hurt him? If she had, Veronica had made up her mind-she would do whatever Adriana did to her father to Adriana.
Shaking herself from her thoughts, Veronica realised Sydney was saying something. “Alright, I just want you all to know, these tracks are getting fresher and slower, so we are getting near him. I have confirmed that it is a man because of the width and size of the feet. Also, the prints indent further than normal, so the man must be very hard to fight.”
“Okay, so we need to be ready to fight when we find him.” Veronica replied.
“Yes, and we will need the resources to outgun him when we do run into him, whether that be intentionally or unintentionally I can’t tell.
