series of events that occurred yesterday:
-vent tube popped out of ac sometime last night. woke up at 3 and my room was like 80 degrees. couldn’t fall back asleep
-got to work at 6 fully planning to leave early bc i was exhausted and had been working so hard the previous 3 days
-coworker comes in and announces that she’s gonna leave when the mid shift people get there
-she leaves, and one of the mids calls off
-me and one other person during lolla rush, i’m actively trying See More not to cry behind the bar. there’s also customers taking photos and im even more upset at that.
-i have to step off to cry. the moment im back on the floor im asked to refill the water
-i refill the water jugs and as i’m bringing back the second one, i slip on a spill that nobody said anything about and the water thing hits the ground before i can let go of it and get my hands out of the way. hands are immediately shredded and im surrounded and rushed to the back of house with blood running down my arms
-manager is out of town so we have one of the head chefs patch me up as best she can. i text several friends looking for someone to come with me to urgent care bc i was scared i was gonna pass out. no answers so my coworker and i go together.
-the sweet boy i’m into calls me while im in the lyft to make sure im okay and tell me he’d couldn’t go bc he was at the airport and wouldn’t be back in time
-get to urgent care and fill out the paperwork
-get my vitals checked. told the nurse my vitals may be messed up bc i was panicking and had 4 shots of espresso in me. (they ended up being perfect)
-they washed my hands off to check and see if i needed stitches, thought i would bc one of my fingers would not stop bleeding. i wasn’t looking at it so i was like “do i need stitches on my pinkie” and she was j like “so there’s not really anything there to stitch”
-got all wrapped up (it took so much gauze and a tourniquet to get the finger under control lmfao)
-got a tetanus shot and went home + me and my coworker got some coffee via lyft since the company had to pay for it anyways. was awesome
