Secrets: Twisted Friendships

Evelynn Audrey Peterson had two best friends since 4th grade named Paisley and Pandora. Pandora was more stylish than the other two and always knew the fashion trends and when something was a fashion no. Paisley on the other hand was one to play lots of sports and to take a daily nap in class, she also loved pranking with Evelynn. Last but not least, Evelynn was the type of girl to dip her toe into all sort of things and see if she liked doing it. That's how she found her passion. Musical Theater.

Chapter 3.

Unbelievably Messy

"Mom? Who's coming over?" I ask quietly as I stand in the doorway to the kitchen. "The new neighbors!" She replied with a bright smile. A puzzled look skittered across my face before I moved to check if we indeed had new neighbors. She was right, there are a couple people there helping unpack... maybe four guys and three girls I guess? I came back into the kitchen to find out what she was making. "A meat casserole." "Mom, you know that you're terrible with new recipes. Let's just make the casserole we like" I sighed. My mother's eyes light up as we both said the recipe's name aloud, "My Favorite Casserole!" I grinned and started chanting it like the wild child I could be and she joined in. Soon we were dancing around the living room, her covered in flour and sauce, and my hair whipping around. The chant soon turned it to war cries after we sped up the chant trying to be faster than one another. I mean, I had to get my childish-ness from someone... We laughed and glanced out the window next to us to find the neighbors staring at us. Mom opened the window and said, "Sorry bout that!" Suddenly the neighbors and I burst into laughter at the sight of my mother hanging out of the first-floor window with her face covered in sauce. She chuckled along but shortly after closed the window and headed back to the kitchen.

I searched half-heartedly through my rack of dresses and gently pulled out a short silky green halter dress and hopped into some black leggings as well. To finish off I wore some light green slip-ons and walked out of my bedroom. Hmm, I was missing something. I headed back in my room and found my feet directing me towards my makeup. After staring at it for some time, I tried on some mascara and some colored lip gloss, guess that completed the outfit. Finally my feet let me walk downstairs and I was told to answer the door, for the doorbell had rung just as I came downstairs. As I opened the door, I found only one of the boys from earlier and the three girls with their mother and father standing on the doorstep. "Good Afternoon! Come on in if you don't mind." I greet them cheerfully and let them pass before shutting the door and leading them towards the dining room where everything was set out. We all sat down and made small talk amongst ourselves as we ate. The three sisters chatted loudly, separating the parents from the boy and I. We hadn't talked much all dinner and I glance up to find him staring at me once again. "What would you like, Collin?" I said tiredly. "You're phone number." he replied smoothly. I rolled my eyes, "Fine..." I passed my phone over to him for him to put his contact in and he passed me his own. My fingers flashed across the expensive screen of his Android. For the contact picture, I made it look like I was taking a selfie, but instead, it was a picture of the food set in front of me. Just as I passed his phone back he took a selfie that most typical girls would drool over. I held my hand out for my IPhone and scoffed at him, "I can't believe you have an Android. Ew." We made faces at each other as we debated about which phone was better.

Not too long after our debate, the parents left the table after clearing their spaces. "Hey. Hey Audrey, Audrey hey. Talk to me. I'm bored." I flicked a piece of meat off of my plate at him, "No thanks." Then I got slapped in the face with a handful of cheese that was meant for the salads. A look of surprise overtook my face before I threw some of the cheese back at him. He returned the attack with the pieces of casserole left on his plate but missed and hit one of his sisters instead. The girl shrieked and threw her glass of water at him in disgust. Then, my dining room became a war zone. After 2 minutes or so, the parents returned to find their children and the walls covered in casserole and salad. "Tia, Waverly, Renna, and Collin Amberlane! Go home and take a shower!" Burst Mrs. Amberlane. They all filed out quickly not wanting to bath in their mother's shame. I followed suit and went up to my bathroom and took a shower.

After I slipped on my onesie, I grabbed a pencil and my journal to write down my ideas for book titles and storylines. That was my current ambition, writing. But I doubt I'll get anywhere, my writing sucks; but I ordered a how to write a book type of book to help me. I gnawed on my pencil before writing down Juneberries under the Titles section. That's all I got after thirty minutes of sitting there. I quick checked my social media before hitting the hay early.
