Chapter 3.

2 - Eli Nelson

Eli waited with the crowd until the storm was over. When the storm had finally passed the people began to disperse. Some had already begun to talk about what had happened earlier that day and what it might mean. Eli kept silent amongst the crowd, but his mind was racing. He had a lot of questions that needed answers and wasn't sure where to begin his investigation. There was something about the man and his words that gave him a feeling of unease, and he knew that he would have to be careful in his pursuit of knowledge. Eli would find the truth behind this mystery, but it would take time and patience.

It would certainly be difficult to pursue this mission. This man was clearly powerful and had a lot to hide. Eli would need to be careful and cautious in his approach, and he would need to consider every move carefully. If the man had something sinister in mind, it could be dangerous to go up against him directly, so Eli would need to be strategic about how he went about gathering information and finding answers. This was going to be a tough fight, but Eli was determined to see it through. He would get to the bottom of this mystery no matter what it took.

With Eli's determination, won't let anyone or anything stand in his way of finding answers. He's willing to do whatever it takes to get to the bottom of this mystery, and he won't rest until he's found the truth. He's got a lot to fight for, and he's not going to stop until he's accomplished his mission. Eli is determined to see this through to the end, no matter what the cost may be. He's got a tough road ahead of him, but Eli is ready to meet the challenge head on.

He was not the type of boy you would think of for things like this. He was no detective, never tracked anyone down, never had a job, and never thought about it.
Yet something about the man had set off his senses, and he knew that something was wrong. He couldn't explain it, but Eli felt like there was a deeper meaning to what the man had said and that he needed to find out more about the man and his intentions. Eli would get to the bottom of this mystery for sure, and he would leave no stone unturned in his pursuit of answers. He was determined to get to the bottom of this mystery no matter what it took, and he would not let anyone or anything stand in his way of achieving his goals. The man’s intentions seemed sinister to Eli.

After all, the man picked up the said-unconscious child he ran over, and took the kid. If something did not seem messed up about that, who knew what to think.
Eli’s phone started to ring, as he grabbed it out of his pocket. His pocket weighed down a strong bit more. He checked the phone screen, to see who was calling.
Just his mother. Eli answered the phone and listened to his mother's voice on the other end of the line. He could hear the concern in her voice, and he quickly tried to reassure her that he was alright. It had been a few hours as he was hidden inside Retco’s for the storm - that still had not fully passed.-  had delayed everyone’s business, just as did the interaction. He reassured his mother that he would be back soon. What a lovely woman, always caring for her children.

The storm started to clear up, not enough it was over, but enough where people of all ages were filing back outside. It was late at night, and everyone including Eli was in a rush to get home. As the rain cleared up, stars shone in the sky, clearer than before. He felt the rush of adrenaline as he heard the people around him speaking, all with the same sense of relief that the storm was finally passing. The clouds had cleared and the air was now much warmer and much more pleasant than it had been before. Eli felt the coolness of the night on his skin and the sound of his own breath as he breathed in and out. Everything around him seemed alive once more.

Rain drizzled onto the sidewalk, umbrellas, cars, and heads, still; though much lighter than before. Eli walked home, being greeted by his mother as he opened the door.
Mrs. Nelson seemed concerned. She had the motherly look on her face, running up to hug her son.

Her warm and affectionate nature filled a room with positive energy every time Eli walked in. Her kind heart and loving nature was contagious, and it was always easy to forget about any worries when she was around. Eli found himself melting against Mrs. Nelson as she hugged him tightly. Her motherly love was everything he needed to feel safe and secure, and for a moment he felt like nothing could ever hurt him while he was in Mrs. Nelson's embrace.

Eli breathed deeply as Mrs. Nelson held him, closing his eyes and feeling the warmth of her embrace. He felt safe and protected, and for a moment he felt like he was floating in a sea of comfort and security. He was in the arms of an angel, and he knew that nothing could ever harm him while she was around. It was a feeling he could never describe, but it was enough to make him forget about all of his worries and troubles. It was the feeling of unconditional love from the woman who was always there for him no matter what. It was the feeling of home after all he’d witnessed that night.
