Chapter Three
Stonefeather woke up to stirring cats, he blinked and walked out. He let dawn sun warm him up, he suddenly felt a pelt brush his. It was Nightwing."I'm leaving the kits with Pineheart, want to go hunting?" she asked. He couldn't refuse, "of course". She smiled at him, "Oh Stonefeather, I'm so glad we're together again".
"I am too, sweet" Stonefeather lied, the truth was he missed his old clan, and his hearty brave brother Flamingwhisper. He also missed being a medicine cat, he missed the morning herb hunts and the feeling of helping his clan. Sure he helped by hunting, but just wasn't the same. And being a medicine cat almost all his life, hunting and fighting were a big challenge.
The couple slipped out of thorn barrier, deciding to hunt towards the Forest Clan border. As they hunted they didn't notice the Forest Clan border patrol swinging by. "Stonefeather look at this big mouse!" Nightwing meowed, Stonefeather gasped. "That could feed two whole cats!" he exclaimed.
"Oh hey look who it is, the bloody murder" a sneer came from the border, "aren't you hunting a little too close to the border murder". Stonefeather turned around to see Badgernose sneering at him, with was Hawkclaw, Hollowfur, and Flamingwhisper. "We are still on our territory, so there's no reason to start fighting" Stonefeather meowed drily. "I'm not listen to a bloody murder" Badgernose snorted, "right guys". Hawkclaw cackled in agreement, Flamingwhisper backed into the shadows, and Hollowfur growled at her two clanmates.
"OH NO YOU DON'T" Badgernose yowled and leapt on him. Stonefeather knew Badgernose was heavier then him, and knew speed would be advantage. Once Badgernose had pinned him down, he slinked out from under him. When Badgernose charged at him, he dodged and scratched his eye. "OW" Badgernose yowled in agony. Stonefeather ran at him, and bit down hard on his left hind leg. Badgernose screamed again in agony, limping into the shadows.
Stonefeather was gonna go after him, when he heard Hollowfur's voice, "Don't go after him, you've taught him enough". Stonefeather stepped away, nodded to the Forest Clan warriors, and headed back to camp. Nightwing followed him, taking all what had happened.
When they returned to camp, Stonefeather sent his mate to the nursery. later news got around camp, news how Stonefeather had defeated one of the heaviest/strongest warriors in Forest Clan. The camp Medicine checked in with him. "Nah, I'm ok" he had told the medicine cat. The leader had praised him, and it seemed that the whole clan was just like home.
But Stonefeather knew nothing could, oh how he missed Forest Clan.
