Chapter Four

It was around midnight when Snowfeather had rushed to the nursery. Flamingwhisper had rushed to the front of the nursery, eyes searching for any dangers. Flamingwhisper could hear the deep, fast breaths, and the reassurance of Snowfeather. Doeriver and Snowytrees were ordered to wait with Flamingwhisper, the two were as worried as Flamingwhisper.
Loud yowls, screams of agony, and then shallow breaths started to come from the nursery. Flamingwhisper couldn't help it, he rushed inside. Blood swamped his paws, Sunsoul had her eyes half closed.
"Flamingwhisper come" she croaked. He came, she licked him all over. "Before I join the ranks of Star shine, I want you to know that to be the best father you can be to our kits, that I'll always be right at your side, and never to give up" she croaked, her breaths getting shallower and shallower. "And that you need to get word out that the prophecies are fake, and Stonefeather is in the real prophecy. You, you are" Sunsoul's voice faded, her breathing stopped.
"No Sunsoul, don't go" Flamingwhisper cried, "Star shine don't send her to your ranks yet, she's to young". Hot tears soaked Flamingwhisper, his eyes red and puffy. "NO, NO NOT SUNSOUL, NOT YET!" Flamingwhisper yowled, but his mate laid there unmoving. Not a blink, not twitch.
"Your a failure" Flamingwhisper hissed at Snowfeather, Snowfeather sniffed and nodded. The nursery was still and silent, except for the two tiny kittens, whining for milk.
