Hidden Powers

Hidden Powers

Jaxon is his nickname, his real name is Jax. He is able to control air, but he isn't like what you would commonly expect, he has powers way beyond anyone's comprehension, and it will take two others who control different elements (fire and water) to bring out his full power. This is going to be a three book series but first I have to get through book one. Hope you enjoy.

Chapter 2.

A new begging in a weird place

The door opened after a while, Jax had spent the time in the room processing what he had learned. Topaz and another kid were shoved in, Topaz stumbled but caught herself before she could fall. The other kid who Jax could now see was another girl wasn’t so lucky, she hit the ground but recovered quickly, Jax backed away from the two girls, they seemed to be dangerous to Jax. The girls approached and Jax shrank away, he got to the bed, Topaz slowed her approach to Jax but the other girl was coming close by the second.
Jax put his hands out in front of him, both of the girls stood frozen. He didn’t move his hands, the girls looked at each other and Topaz spoke. “What’s your name? All I heard you called is number three or just plain old three.”
“My name... my name is Jax.” He looked at Topaz, “I know yours, you are Topaz, or at least thats what they kept calling you, but,” he turned his head to look at the other girl, “I never learned your name.”
“You can call me Mesi or number two, if you are wondering, I am the Stream. It is not good but heck, you need help then ask for a Flint because Topaz or number one over here is so much better then me.” She was smiling at Jax and he could tell she was trying to joke about the Topaz thing but he could tell she was deadly serious about the Flint, Stream thing.
“So, what are you?” Topaz asked, he realized he still had them frozen and lowered his hands freeing them.
“Well the woman, Desiree said I was a class six Breeze whatever that means.” Jax looked at the girls with a hint of fear that they would mock him. Mesi was smiling from ear to ear, Topaz was frowning looking like she was calculating the possibilities of his words. “You haven’t told me what class you two are.” Jax looked over at them both.
“I’m only a class three Stream,” Mesi looked jealously at Topaz and Jax could tell they had been friends but they had some kind of falling out.
“I’m a class five Flint, they told us there was no possible way their could be a higher level than that.” Topaz looked like she was calibrating her next words carefully. “They said only three element types lived, Stream, Flint, and Terra. Breeze was only a myth, a legend.”
“Why’s that?” Jax’s head was spinning a million miles per hour trying to process what he was hearing.
“Because the Breezes were higher classes and had special gifts, if the gift was taken away all that was left was a low level breeze, just like with all of us, you take the ability away all that is left is the element he or she originated from. The only reason this comes into effect is because only the person who has the gift can learn what it is. It is different sets of gifts per element, I can guess you already know mine is navigation. I can also take energy from fire or just control it.” Topaz was now smiling.
“My gift is the ability to teleport over large spaces of water and then still walk above it, I also can manipulate water to follow my every movement or command. I wish I could do better because my abilities only work near water.” Mesi looked glum.
“All I know for sure is that I’m really good with heights, like I could jump from a fifteen story building and still land on my feet. Plus if I push myself hard enough sometimes it feels like I stopped midair and was dangling in the air until I lose control and drop.” Jax felt like he just sold his soul to the devil. “The only reason I know this is because I was in gymnastics and was the only one who could high beam without getting seriously injured.”
“Well one thing I know for sure is that you can manipulate wind and stay aloft for long periods of time, maybe when you get good enough then you will be able to fly.” Topaz said. “Now we can escape,” She sounded giddy now.
“What do you mean escape, the others, and agents guard us twenty-four-seven, we always are kept away from our natural elements except for f, its only a matter of time before they keep Jax in a room they can suck the air out of.” Mesi looked like she was going to be sick by the idea.
“What do you guys mean by others.” Jax looked at the both of them, “What are you talking about.”
“Well you met Desiree, she is one of the others, they are an elite group of gifted only they can’t control elements, some get sucky powers like Desiree’s others get stronger powers but none of them rank anywhere close to us.” Topaz looked over at Mesi, she almost looked sad.
“No more about us and the others, we want to know more about you.” Mesi was looking dreamily towards Jax.
Jax put his hands at the ready, he forced himself not to stop them again, they weren’t even moving at the moment and if they did it was away from him.
He examined them both more closely Mesi had lustrous auburn hair which had a blue tint to it, she had blue eyes and high bright lips, her skin was golden compared to Jax.
Topaz had red hair and hazel eyes, she wasn’t the thinest of girls but she wasn’t chubby either, she had full lips and her skin was olive colored and wonderful to look at.
Jax on the other hand was the total opposite of the girls, he had raven black hair  with dashes of white throughout and misty gray eyes, he was the thinnest of them all but a gymnast had to be, the girls weren’t fat though. He had pale skin that burned easily in the sun, he was also taller then the girls, more so to Topaz then Mesi.
“Well I get hot flashes every so often.” Jax started to daydream not really following the girls anymore.
“Well that means you were starting to sense others, only Topaz and you can really sense others, it is why the agents will take you out sometimes and use you to track others.” Mesi started slurring her words.
“Mesi, Mesi are you okay?” Topaz was slurring now to.
Jax snapped back to attention, he looked over at Mesi who was sleeping and Topaz who was shaking Mesi’s hand trying to wake the girl up. Topaz was slowing with every breath, Jax watched in horror and fascination as Agents came in and took out Mesi and Topaz.
Three agents walked up to Jax, he moved away from them. He was in a daze now trying to move away from the agents and not trap himself, he lifted his hands up and all movement in the room stopped.
Jax keeping his hands up walked around the frozen people, he touched some, it looked as if they had been frozen by unseen winds blowing from all sides at once.
He neared the exit but as he stepped closer the more his hands faltered, like his body was only going to let him control one thing at a time.
Jax could no longer hold his hands up, it was like an invisible chain was pulling his hands down, Jax gave in and let his hands sink to his side. Everything started up again, the men and women who had been moving forward continued on their way, some of the people fell and others lost balance but they kept there footing until another person knocked them down.
A few minutes later Mason and Desiree were the only ones left standing in a room full of toppled over people. Jax moved towards the door but they pushed him back, he started lifting his hands but someone else grabbed his hands from behind and was taping them behind Jax’s back.
Mason took hold of Jax and led him out of the room, Jax was hoping he would be taken to the same place that Mesi and Topaz were taken but when they neared the farthest door on a windowless hall Mason punched in another code and took Jax in, he left Jax standing in the center of the room staring.

Jax sat in a corner of the room and ran over the people he knew before and the people he met.
Mason, a really pushy man. Not the biggest of men but strong, he had younger look about him but their was no mistaking his age from the way he looked at you. He had dark brown hair, and brown eyes that bore down on you making you shrink back, when he speaks it scares you. He smelled like aftershave and mint, not a good combination.
Topaz, a really beautiful red head with dazzling hazel eyes and a stunning facial features. She had a smell of ash and pine, it was a nice relaxing smell, but you could catch a hint of peppermint on her. Topaz could control fire and had olive colored skin, she wasn’t chubby but wasn’t model thin. She was also called a Flint, she was more a brainy type of girl then Mesi and more protective.
Desiree, a women with amazing foggy gray eyes, she was the picture the greek goddess Athena, only mortal. She had the ability to rate class and type of power someone has, she’s also snotty when you first met her.
Mesi, a class three stream. She had soft blue eyes and beautiful facial features, she smelled like salt water and moss. She had dazzling golden colored skin, lustrous auburn hair with a tint of blue to it. Mesi was a sweet girl and she looked about his age which was 16 so did Topaz, Mesi seemed more funny than Topaz.
Jax ran through the four of them over and over in his head, trying to figure out which ones were good and which ones were bad.

Jax spent a while fighting with his feelings but not to long after he fell asleep in his corner and was glad of it, he knew he would of never fallen asleep on the bed. Mason came to get him after Jax woke and took him to a big area, men and women with guns were stationed everywhere. Their was a little area to get food but most of the space was used for tables, Mason lead Jax to the little food station and Jax picked out what he wanted to eat.
Jax got his food and Mason lead him to a table to eat.
Mason took a seat across from Jax and watched as he ate the food. Jax looked up after finishing his tiny meal, “Okay kid first thing,” Mason grumbled. “This is the mess hall, you will have three meals in here. Only the higher level elementals eat first, which is you and Topaz, Mesi eats at a different time, You and Topaz are the only ones who will eat at this time and will then be escorted to the fitness hall wear you will then be expected to train for thirty minutes while the others and the Stream are eating. After all you elementals will be taken to the courtyard wear you will then have time to get fresh air and be near your elements.
“If you try anything while outside my men have an order to stop it even it means shooting you or Mesi or Topaz. This will ensure you stay and if you do try to escape or try anything not permitted then you will have to go to the fake room wear you are in a bubble, the only good thing about that place is you will be near your element but we can take it away at any minute.” Mason finished his speech waiting for Jax to speak
“So what you are saying is any escape attempt is futile.” Jax clarified.
“Yes, and once you are trained well enough we will get you a nice bracelet that will let us control you, your heart rate, your breathing, your emotions, your sleep patterns. Once we get you your bracelet Breeze we will be able to use you to capture more others.”
“Why do you need me for that, you seem to be doing a good job by your self.” Jax smiled at Mason with his best fake smile.
“Men take this elemental to his cell, watch him twenty-four-seven until his bracelet is finished.” Mason barked at the men and women scattered around the room.
Two men approached Jax, he let them take hold of his arms. He felt a ping inside him somewhere and he grew warm, he stumbled and Mason snapped to attention. Mason rushed over and help the men who started slowing down and stumbling. Jax felt everything with extra sensitivity, the world started spinning around and Jax grew dizzy.
After a while the heat faded inch by inch, his body was trying to fight against the heat. But once it reached his stomach the heat didn’t seem to want to move away anymore and started rising again. Mason had more men come to the aid of the two men holding Jax, one of the men tore himself away screaming. Jax moved his head slightly and saw that the man was clutching his hand to his chest.
The other agent, left by himself to hold Jax up while agents took the other man away, he started to collapse as if Jax weighed a lot.
This man too started crying out in pain and let go of Jax, Jax didn’t feel the impact with the floor, the only thing that went through him was heat. Jax curled into a ball and laid on the floor in this position until a group of seven or more agents carried Jax back to his little room.
Jax could feel the wave of heat leaving him and allowing him the freedom of movement, he sat up and swung his legs out of the bed. Jax walked over to the door, he looked out to the hallway and saw two guards in front of his room, Jax walked slowly over to his window taking the time to stare out at the wilderness and the bright blue sky. He remembered all the times he had done this ever since he was a toddler and learned the art of crawling to the backyard.
“What cha doing,” Mesi walked over to him and put her perfectly tempered hands on his still warm skin. “I was walking down the hall and saw you peeking out, I waved but I guess that you have tempered glass.”
“What is tempered glass?” Jax cocked his head making Mesi giggle. “Wait, why are you allowed to wander the halls?”
“You are silly, the ‘others’ make the tempered glass, it causes the person looking through it to see what is their but when you have a enemy or prisoner here it leaves elementals and others hidden from sight,” Mesi smiled drawing back and perching on my bed.
“You still didn’t answer the second part,” Jax moved away from the window going to sit on the bed with Mesi.
“Simple because I’m only a class three. The important people here don’t find that super useful so I am allowed to wander at will, I can also visit you and Topaz at any time. Topaz on the other hand has to ask permission to go walking around and always has at least one escort sometimes a guard is forced along as well,” Mesi shifted uncomfortably.
        “What about me?”
“You Jax are a different story, the higher ups took a major interest in you when Desiree pointed out you were a class six, the only one. The only other people who are level six are the true element forms or elemental spirits, we all call them Spirits for short. But since you are the first they have captured so high and your also a Breeze you have to have special permission to go around and will need seven guards with you when you do.”
“What is the difference between guards and escorts?”
“Guards are their to make sure you cause no trouble, escorts just follow you and report your behavior. Your escort happens to be Desiree.”
Jax muttered under his breath at the mention of Desiree, he still had questions for Mesi but he could tell she was growing far more uncomfortable in his room.
“Well thank you Mesi, I can tell you are getting uncomfortable now so you can go,” Jax got up and offered her a hand up.
Mesi took it and stood up on wobbly legs. “Its not you Jax, they just lowered the oxygen level in your room, I’m not used to this low a oxygen count, but being near you seems to bring in better cleaner air, air I’m not used to either.”
Mesi wobbled to the door, Jax followed her with his eyes absentmindedly and watched as she knocked six times, the door silently slid open and Mesi was greeted by a guard on the other side, the guard let her pass. Jax wanted to move but knew he had to wait, he went and grabbed a pillow walking over to the door seeing no Mesi but sensing her nearby.

I wrote this a long time ago, I plan on basically redoing the entirety of the story. It may take a while though, I'm already working on redoing like ten of my stories.
