Chapter 2.

The Meeting

As the two drove, they were thinking of meeting new friends and having a good school year. They were both listening to music, different in style. After around ten minutes of driving, they arrived, Rainbow driving before Applejack. It was a couple minutes before Applejack arrived, parking in the empty spot next to a black motorcycle with a rainbow streaked lightning bolt going down it's right side. The rider had her head resting on her hands, which were resting on her handlebars. She was looking at the school, which was a massive red bricked building three times the size of it's football field. Applejack saw her and decided to make conversation, since school didn't start for a couple hours at most. She opened her passenger side door after turning off her engine. She slipped out, closing the door behind her and leaning behind it.
"Heya" Applejack said with her country girl accent that most guys would swoon for. The girl on the bike stopped tapping her fingers, an obvious side effect of her major case of AD/HD. She looked up at Applejack with wide Rosemary Pink eyes. Applejack frowned. She looked familiar, but she couldn't place where she met her. "Do I know ya? Ya look a little familiar..."
"Applejack, it is you!" said the rainbow haired tomboy. Applejack's Emerald Green eyes widened and she smiled.
"Rainbow Dash, you son of a gun. What have you been up to?" she smiled and put Dash in a headlock and gave her a noogie.
"AH! I hate when you do that!" she pulled away, but hugged her. "I've been great. Man, you changed since middle school"
"You got stronger, that's for sure. Nothing else, though. Have you been working out?" She nodded. It has been a couple months since they saw  each other last, but it felt like an eternity.
For about an hour, they caught each other up on how their summer has been. They then relaxed in the bed of Applejack's truck. After a while, Rainbow asked, "Wanna see something awesome?" Applejack nodded. As they stood, they saw the first peak of the days light. "Hurry!" Rainbow grabbed her hand and ran towards the school. She opened an unlocked door and ran through the halls, smiling as she led the other girl through the school. After a couple minutes, she opened a door to the roof and walked out to the edge and sat there, her legs between the rails. Applejack sat on the railing, not knowing it was weak and rusty. They had a perfect view of the town, as the sunrise came over the horizon, basking their town of Ponyville in a dark orange light.
"It's beautiful..." said Applejack. They sat there in silence for a while until they heard the bell, starting the school day. Rainbow stood and gestured to Applejack to follow her.
     "Let's go to class"
Applejack nodded and tried to stand, but the rail finally gave way and broke, sending Applejack and the rail flying down to the concrete below. Time froze, and she faintly heard, "AJ!!" but she couldn't know who said it. Her life flashed before her eyes. It was happy at first, but became more and more stressful. She saw all the times she tried to kill herself, but failed. Was this it? How she finally died? She closed her eyes and smiled sadly, because the last memory she had was happy yet sad, as she was reunited with her best friend.
