Aaron's POV

(Aaron)

After lunch, it was time to head to Biology, my favorite class of the day, mostly because I'd always been a sort of nerd. But also because my lab partner, Avery had been my friend for ages, even before we'd gotten into Watercress. Imagine my relief that at least one person going to Watercress I knew, being a new kid and all.

Though I admit, something changed this year. Something that made me blush a lot around her, and notice how pretty her brown hair was, and those chocolates eyes.

But it was complete obvious Avery didn't like me back. I was obviously just her geeky friend. She didn't like me...or did she?

No, she didn't.

Ugh! What is wrong with me? Life was much simpler when my thoughts about Avery centered on beating her at Halo.

Avery's POV

I thought I had life at Watercress Middle figured out. Stay out of the way, don't brag about straight A's, and leave Eva Lake and her clique-thingy alone unless they're bullying someone. Now that I also had my best friends, Lexi and Emma, I was completely content.

But nope! Life just wouldn't have it. I had to start crushing on my friend and lab partner Aaron. To make matters worse, I started to stutter and blush around him. He probably thought I was an idiot and was still my friend only because he felt sorry for me.

I walked into Biology, which used to be my favorite class. It had uber cool lab equipment (thanks to its fancy private school status), a super amazing teacher named Mr. Steinman.

But as I slipped into the stool next to him, all Aaron did was mutter, "Hey," He obviously thought I was-I don't even know!

But it wasn't like I could ASK him. So I just sat there in tortured silence.

Aaron's POV

As Avery walked in, perfect as ever, all I could manage was a feeble, "Hey," She looked at me weird, making me want to face palm myself, but if I'd said anything more, she will think I was even MORE weird. That was my conundrum for you.

Why was it so hard?!
