The Book of Randomness

This is pretty much a bunch of random things I've written. This counts from OC's of any fandom or roleplay, short stories, poems and more! I'm too lazy to make a story picture so yeah. Read if you want. I'm not forcing you to.

Chapter 12.

Project A.R.C Segment V.1.03

He expected this day to come, it was better this than grow old and die of old age without making any contributions to society.  But why would he want to help the Government? Everyone in this city knew by now. The Government had begun making changes, there were new, strict rules that if broken, often lead to punishments, punishments with consequences as serious as death. It was seen as cruel and heartless, but he understood. Many knew about the Government’s plan to make a superior species, humans with better capabilities. Stronger, faster and smarter. Not super humans, even he knew that was impossible, but by singling out and getting rid of the defective, the old and the weak, the Government believed this would be possible. So that’s what they did. The Government began facilities, harsh training centres where they turned people into soldiers, improved humans, they said.

The Government began experiments, the worst of which occurred in Sector X. At first the experiments were confidential, but there were eyes and ears everywhere. Information leaked out. Many said that the Government had gone insane; turned corrupt. But there was little that they could do about it; the Government practically ran the place. Without them it would fall into anarchy. And there were few brave enough to stand up to them for fear of being sent to Sector X, or even worse...The Pit.

But the people who stood up to the Government were either very courageous, or very, very foolish. Personally, he believed the latter. And a part of him held dislike about the fact that the few rebels even tried to rebel in the first place, he thought they were ungrateful. The place was harsh, yes, but it was so the Government could weed out the traitors and the one’s not fit to see Nirvana. So what was Nirvana? Nirvana, the word itself was the final goal of Buddhism, a transcendent state in which there is neither suffering, desire nor a sense of self. The subject was released from the effects of karma...And the cycle of death and rebirth. This Nirvana, however, was different. It was one in which those chosen to go would be free of suffering. A paradise of sorts, where only the worthy would get to experience. The stronger species.

That was what the Government was planning to do. And personally, he didn’t see what was so wrong with the idea. Nor why there were people who opposed the idea and looked at it with disgust. But he knew that many believed him to be innocent and naive, a dreamer. The very idea of a paradise free of pain, suffering and distress seemed too idealistic, especially with how humans act now.. He disagreed. Innocent? No. He hadn’t killed but he was far from innocent. The boy had lied, cheated and stolen. He wouldn’t call himself that innocent. But as for naivety? Perhaps he was, he wouldn’t know. But he did not consider himself worthy to see this Nirvana, but if he could do anything to help, he’d do it without hesitation.  Perhaps he was a fool for believing that a paradise could exist, but wasn’t it better to have hope, hope for a brighter future, than none at all?
