The Summer Carnival

It's another day of school. I was going out of the house and was unlocking my bike's lock. "Good Morning , Aki !"  Aina shouted as she was standing near our house's post box. "How are you, Akki" she giggled. "um why are acting like this Aína"  "why have you changed? What happened to your old you? who was shy, quiet??" I shouted
she was silent for some time . "let's walk to the school together" she said. we began to walk. then she smiled and said "So don't you like it if I change, Aki? huhh?" she came closer. I became as hot as a vessel in high flame. "No matter what. .a friend should be with you ...isn't it Aki?". she said as she made her face closer ."I don't mean that... I was asking  why  you changed in the first place ?" I screamed
She kept quiet ."She didn't talk to me the whole time. in the class she sent me a chit . the chit said "Aki, let's go to summer carnival together tomorrow. I want to say something important. Be there by 6:00 , k?" I wondered what it could have been. I was desperate to know why she changed because I was very worried . A Sudden Change doesn't happen without any reason .

After reaching home, I marked the date on my calendar. May 28th, tomorrow. I have added going to summer carnival in to do list.
I was waiting for the next day. I was so excited that I couldn't sleep whole night. was it just because I wanted to know her secret. it was also that I didn't want to miss the chance of going out with her. It's just like a date I thought.

I was hugging my pillow and was unable to sleep.

The Next day, I woke up at 5:00 AM , with dark patches below my red eyes. I had sleep only for an hour or two.
The Festival was from 6:00 Am to 7:00 Am. We planned to  at 6:00. I had my bread hurriedly & Cycled to the destination. I was not having a good grip on bike as I was deeply involved in my own thoughts .

I heard a crash sound . I crashed some bins . the trash fell all over the place in front of a house. "Hey!! Watch where you're going, will ya? " screamed a girl, with her cat green eyes staring at me  with anger, and brushing her black long hair. "How dare you throw trash in front my house? my house? yes mine? do you know who I am? I suppose you don't ehhh" she said folding her hands.
I recalled something. When I was in 1st grade , in the sports period, I was playing football with my friends. accidently, I kicked the football  on a girl, with huge earrings. she gave me an aggressive look . she shouted "Heyy!! You threw the ball on me? o me? yes me? Hah. looks  like you don't know about me do ya?"  I apologised and about to run. she caught my hand and said " So trying to run away heh? You can't unless you become my friend. it's an order" she said with a angry look " Sure" I said. she was crazy friend. made me do all the work. she and Ichi made me do all the work. they were like bullies but we were vey close and used to understand each other.

She was Iori. She always had an angry look on her face when she was with me. when our eyes met she used to make crazy faces then turn away. She used to play pranks on me and scare me, tease me but used to defend me, support me too.

While I was thinking about our primary school days, she slapped me and said "Are you even listening to me?!?!? "


"Iori, is it you?" I asked the girl

"uhh...How do yo- wait...the hair...eyes...looks...YOU ARE HIM? I ME-EAN...AKI!?!?"

"Haha long time no see" I smiled "
she slapped me  again and said "Idiot ! why did you take so long to return? did you forget about us? " she shouted at me . her face turned as pink as rose. she began to cry. "Now you are here...let's spend a whole day at the Summer Carnival. let's go" she said
"it's anyway Sunday and a holiday. let's have fun . " she winked

I was very happy that I didn't have any words. I was so happy that I wanted to jump and dance. meeting your precious friend who means a lot to you is the best surprise. I was too Excited that I forgot about meeting Aina .

By the time I remembered about our meeting , I was holding Iori's hand in the way to the Carnival. she was quite happy but covered it with an angry look . it looked forced .
" It is so embarrassing yet so good. " she said
I wanted to tell her about meeting Aina but I thought that when we arrive at Carnival I could take her to Aina.
We could spend time together.

We reached the Carnival. She kept on talking and talking and teasing me like she used to do. she has not changed at all. I smiled at stared at her. she looked at me with awkward smile and turned away. " You wish that we could walk for some more time like this, holding hands , right? " she said

I answered " Well isn't it what you are thinking"
She bet me with her purse  "um let's go and eat something first" she said as she grabbed my hand and took me to her favourite store, the cake store

After riding some rides, eating the carnival's famous flower fritters, I thought it was the right time to take her to Aina but she interrupted and said "Um let's go to the cup and saucer ride. it's my favourite  and yeah..I have something to talk she "said

We were riding on it together. I couldn't say no to her. I was enjoying but I also wanted to see Aina.

I was looking around to spot Aina. then I was shocked to see Aina near our ride looking at us riding. I was scared. Maybe she will think I didn't give any notice to her or I didn't value her words. I began to tremble. She was looking at us. and when she noticed me looking at her, she smiled and waved. I was surprised and confused at the same time. "Isn't she angry on me?'" I thought
