Chapter 2

Teyne. He was the outcast. Always watching, learning, observant. The cubs of starry night spread rumours about him, so many, it was hard to tell truth from lie. When he was younger, a hyena tore his neck and ripped out his vocal cords. He survived, but his voice didn't. He cant say one word. He was a shadow, with no friends, and no family. Orphaned, adopted by the Pride, forgotten. This was all that was known about the mysterious cub. Nidju knew there was more to this outsider, but she gave up trying. Teyne never shared his secrets. "Have you found anything new about him?" Belaia asked, her eye almost as horrendous as Teyne's neck, "no, it's like his secrets are in a cave, but that cave is locked by the strongest boulder, there is one stone that could so much chip it, but he took it, ran away, and buried it halfway across the world." Nidju growled, frusterated at how difficult Teyne was. "That idiot!" She growled again, stamping her paws on the ground and padding away with her muzzle in the air.

"SHUUUUT UUUUUPPP NAAAAVUUUUIIIII!!!!!!" Nidju snarled, clearly annoyed at the spoiled and snobbish prince. "Calm down, Nidju." He smiled, Nidju felt like slapping that smirk off his face and maybe knock some of those perfect teeth of his out. "Sorry for annoying you, really, nobody really gets me. I have no other choice." He mewed sadly. Nidju felt a small pang of empathy for him, she was surprised at that, she hated Navui with all her heart and existence. "I understand. But you could go annoy some one else besides me!!!" Nidju growled. Navui recoiled, he looked a little hurt. "I'll be going now. Have a nice day, I hope we can talk more someday." He turned and padded off, relief filled Nidju. But she still felt some empathy for him, she wondered why.
