Chapter 3
Nidju ran ahead from the band of cubs behind her, the cubs had made up their own Pride, 'the Pride Of Swallowing Shadows' and had their own hierarchy, Navui was king, Belaia was healer, Nidju and Rimu were assassins, teyne was fighter, And Horosho was hunter. Nidju's only regret joining this fake pride is that her two worst enemies--Navui and Teyne, were in this star-forsaken group. Nidju reached a river, flowing faster then wind, and stopped. Staring at the crashing waves below. Horosho tried to stop, but was running to fast, he crashed into Nidju. Nidju felt her paws slip from under her, and she plummeted into the water, letting out a scream before ice cold washed over, waves batted her back and forth. She saw Belaia in the water as well, attempting to swim to shore. The waves knocked Nidju to the riverbed, her head hit a stone, and darkness cloaked the world.Nidju awoke hissing and spitting up water, all she remembered was falling into a river. She shivered with cold and tried to stand, she realized that she was on shore, before she fell back to the ground. She looked up, Navui was getting out of the water, coughing up water and blood, staining the ground red. "Navui!" Nidju called, even if she hated Navui, she needed all the help she could get. "Nidju? Is that you?" He said back. Searching the ground beside him. "Who else would it be dim-wit?! I think I fainted down the river, can you tell me what happened?!" "Fine." He meowed relief in his blue eyes, wait, relief?! Why? "I don't remember much either, but you stopped at the edge of the riverbank, and Horosho slammed into you, you both fell into the water! So Belaia jumped in after you!" Navui coughed up more blood, then fell to the ground. "Navui!! Are you okay?!" Nidju called. "I'm...fine..." he growled before he fainted in a pool of blood. "Navui!" Nidju called, she tried to drag herself over to the snobbish prince, Nidju didn't know why she even cared.
Nidju heard a noise behind her, she turned to see Teyne drag Belaia out of the water, the two scarred lions even more bruised then before. Horosho and Rimu right behind them, exchanging worried glances. "Hey!" Called Nidju, Horosho saw her and smiled, padding over to her blissfully. "Nidju! Your alive!!!" He said happily, practically dancing around. "Yea, I am. But Navui and Belaia sure as hell aren't. Help them first." Horosho looked behind Nidju and his smile faded. "Your right. But can you stand?" He asked. "Does it look like a can stand?!" She snapped. Horosho rolled his eyes and padded behind her to get Navui. Nidju dragged herself over to Belaia, she was still breathing thank goodness, but she was in a state of shock, her mouth was open and blood spewed out of it, she hacked up some water and stood. Blinking. "Belaia!!" Nidju meowed happily, atleast all of them were together.
