Chapter 1

Nidju's paws pattered across the sandy ground wich was the middle of her Pride's camp, wich was in the middle of a grassy plain  and surrounded by caves. The mountain she lived beside had many ways up, always littered with areas to stop at, they took those to go up and hunt, wich Nidju wanted to go do more then any other cub, or so she thought. Her thoughts were cut off as she was picked up by the scruff, "where do you think your going?" Her mother said in a soft voice, "moooooom! Let me go!!" Nidju whined. Her mother, Serebra, is one of the most peaceful lionesses there, Nidju's brother, Kaiju got more of her genes. Her father, on the other paw, was one of the Pride's strongest fighters. Serebra laughed, "stay in the camp, and I'll leave you alone." She turned and walked over to the nursery. Nidju sighed in relief and padded over to were her two best friends, Belaia and Horosho, were laughing and talking near a bush. "Nidju!" Belaia called, "come join us!" Belaia was an albino lioness, just like her
mother, Zviozda. Nidju just noticed that she looked a lot like her mother, who had silver fur. Horosho was the common golden lion, and Nidju inherited brown fur and lighter highlights from her father, wich was a pretty common fur pattern in the Pride. The prince had it, the queen, and a lot of hunters and fighters. Nidju ran over to the two cubs and sat near them, Horosho pointed behind Belaia, Nidju looked and saw the most annoying lion in the world behind Belaia. Prince Navui. Navui's dark brown fur sparkled in the sunlight, and his white underbelly shadowed out and barely visible. Nidju was staring into space but she was snapped back to reality when Navui spoke, "may I join you guys?" He asked, but Nidju knew it wasn't a yes or no question; but a command.

Nidju sprinted behind Belaia as they bolted through the tall grasses, thick enough to completely conceal a grown lion, let alone two little cubs. Despite Belaia's white fur, Nidju could barely see her, she assumed the same for her brown fur and lighter highlights. Belaia came to a sudden stop and Nidju almost crashed into her. "Hey! What th--" Nidju was cut off when Belaia
slapped her across the face with a paw and shushed her. Nidju looked ahead, and saw a herd of Water Buffalo, stopping at a river. Nidju thought deeply about this, surely Belaia wasn't stupid enough to--o wait, wait she is. Nidju saw Belaia sprinting towards a young water buffalo, its horns just growing in, but deadly nonetheless. Belaia leaped onto the water buffalo, it started panicking and it bucked her off, she landed in front of it on the ground. "Belaia!!!" Nidju screeched, running to the scene, but it was to late. The water buffalo charged at Belaia and ramed her with its half-grown horns. Blood went everywhere, spattering
across Nidju. Belaia flew into the grasses witch were only a meter away from were she was. The young water buffalo turned and looked at Nidju, who had a terrified and awe-stricken expression on her face. The water buffalo raced after her, it was horrifically big for a small lion cub. Nidju broke her horrified gaze and bounded into the grasses, it grew confused and returned to its fleeing herd. "Belaia!!" She called, hoping a miracle would happen and her friend wasn't dead. "Nidju!!?" She called back. Nidju sprinted towards the noise, freezing in a horrified impression and all fur standing on end. Belaia wasn't dead, but she was covered in scars, and her right eye...it was...Nidju choked on the words. "Your eye...its...missing!" Belaia's remaining blue eye had tears bursting out of it, soon the ground was stained with blood and tears. "I-..." Belaia mewed, "I NEVER WANT TO GO HUNTING AGAIN!"
