Summer Camp Story

More Missing

The fire flickered on Blaze's pale face as she put her hands onto her hips.
"What just happened?" Jackie, was crying, Maria and Yamilette had their arms around her. Maria looked up.
"Amy called Jackie an alcoholic!" she said in a scratchy voice.
"What?" Blaze was obviously shocked.
"I had brought some water on the trip so I wouldn't have to drink bug juice like everyone else and since i'm the oldest here she..." Jackie sighed, whiping her eyes on a napkin. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't be crying. I just didn't expect it." Yamillete hugged her which she accepted gratefully.
"Is that what everyone else heard?" Blaze asked, she looked around the girls and her eyes landed on Trinty. Now everyone was looking at her. She didn't like being the centre of attention, all the girl's strong personalitys made her feel discluded. "Trinty," Blaze prompted but Trinty couldn't think of what to say. Blaze sighed. "I'm going after Amy. Everyone wait here." She picked up her big flashlight from where Sapphire had set it down. Then she fished in her pocket and pulled out her mobile, checking something on it. "Stay put." She said again. "I'll be right back, and then we're going to have a long discussion on what's going to happen on this overnight." Everyone looked freaked. Trinty suddenly perked up.
"Do you want me to go with you?" She felt guilty, Amy had tried to be nice to her yet she couldn't think of what to say to defuse the situation.
"No. Stay with Rouge." Blaze answered gesturing to Rouge who nodded in response. Blaze flicked on her torch and stomped off into the trees.

"So much for our bonding expirence," Wave groused. She looked to Rouge. "We're all going to get booted, huh?"
"I wouldn't think so, though it's not completely out of the picture."
"It's Amy who should be booted!" Red whispered. Rouge sighed and shrugged.
"Trinty, what exactly did Amy say?" Trinty gulped and sighed.
"'lil Miss 'keep fit' over there chugging'" She whispered not able to make eye contact with anyone.
"So she didn't exactly call Jackie an alcoholic" Rouge muttered.
"We all know what she was implying." Yamilette said loyally still clinging to Jackie.
"Like you guys didn't do anything at all!" Wave suddenly shouted standing up. "Amy and I didn't mention it before, Rouge, but all this NICE people said some really mean things about Amy and me when they foudn out they were going to be in a bunk with us. Amy overheard and cried all the way to the bunk." Everyone fell silent.
"It's true." Maria muttered. "I'm so sorry Wave."
"Me too." Electra sighed. "I was nasty."
"Maybe this is what Vector was talking about." Victoria pitched in. "All the stuff we haven't talked about." That was pure Victoria, Trinty thought. She didin't talk a lot, but when she did, it was worth waiting for. Rouge nodded in agreement. The conversation died. Trinty figured the bunk was waiting for Blaze to come back with Amy. Rouge went to her tent and got the scavenger hunt clipboard. Electra patted Trinty on the bacl before going to talk with Maria, Sapphire and Yamilette. Jackie sat down beside Trinty.
"You notice a lot of things right?" She asked Trinty who nodded shyly. "Had I done anything to upset Amy?"
"You kinda got on her case when she dropped the ketchup on your tomato's at dinner."
"Maybe she was trying to make more ketchup?" Jackie asked trying to make a joke. "Thank you, Trinty." She smiled and went to talk to Red and Lilli.

"Don you think they should be back now?" Jackie asked.
"Maybe something's wrong." Maria spoke up straining her voice. She looked at Rouge who strugged. Trinty frowned. She craned her neck and looked over the lake. A thin layer of fog rised from the water.
"You guys?" She called. "Look at that."Everyone looked towards the lake in silence.
"Just like in Sapphire's story." Yamilette muttered.
"It's just fog!" Wave snapped, but her voice faulted. The campfire flickered and went out. Rouge pulled out a torch from her bag and handed it to Red. The fog on the lake was thicker now.
"This is creeping me out a little." Sapphire admitted.
"Me too." Trinty agreed. An owl hooted. Another answered it.
"Okay, i'm going to see what's going on."
"Please, let me go with you!" Maria said. "I want to say sorry."
"Me too!" Electra said "We need to say sorry." Rouge paused for a moment then nodded.
"Alright, you two come with me, but everyone else, stay here. Under strict orders." Everyone nodded. "Alright, Maria, Electra, with me." Then the three left the camp site.
