The Particular Tuesday
I continued my life as if nothing had happened. I tried to forget the fact that Jayden had scared me. It was always like that though. He would always find ways to trick or scare his friends. The rest of my friends stayed cause they could use the laugh. I only stayed because I was already scared, of being alone. A knock caused me to lose my train of thought. As I walked to answer the door, I stepped on something. It was nothing but a pen. "How'd that get there? Could have sworn I-" I was caught startled again by the knock on the door. You probably already guessed this, but I am the most easily scared of my friends. "Alright, I'm coming I'm coming."I assured. It was Shiata, come for a visit. "Hi Eddie!" She greeted me with a smile. The weird thing about Shiata was that though she was Japanese, she didn't speak a lick of the language. The reason was because her parents taught her English first, so school could be easier. "Oh, Um......Hi?" I greeted back, puzzled on why she came.I tried my best not to sound rude when I said "Um...why are you here?" but instead felt like hitting myself in the face. "Well I just felt like stopping by, and I thought it would be nice to see a familiar face." She answered in a calm but positive tone. "Well if you would have told me, I would've cleaned up a bit." I murmured. "What do you mean?" she chuckled "Your apartment is the cleanest I've ever seen!" . Most people would agree with her statement. I was very organised, apart from where I place his supplies. "Heh, yeah I guess your right about that." I chuckled softly. "Oh yeah!" She reached into a bag "This is for you! Do you like it?". She handed me an item. It was a colored-glass frog. Most people wouldn't see this as a gift, but again, I wasn't most people. In fact my favorite animals were frogs. "Well?" She had been waiting for an answer "Do ya like it or not?". "It's perfect. heh" I finally answered. I set it on the shelf where it stayed. "Heh, you remembered I like frogs." I said in a quiet tone of voice. "How could I forget? It's like the weirdest thing about you!" She laughed. "Ooooh, Frog dude's gotta girlfriend!" Went a tiny voice similar to yesterdays, but different. "Shut up Jayden!" I shouted "I told you yesterday grow u-". I was interrupted by the beeping of Shiata's watch. "Sorry I gotta go bye."
She announced. "Okay, um...bye...thanks for the gift!" I thanked her. "Bye bye pretty lady!" The voice shouted. "No prob Bob, And by ya lil weirdo!"She bid us farewell as she left. When she was gone the voice blabbered out, "She seems nice!". "Well she is! And you should know Jayden!" I shot at the voice hoping it would go away. It didn't, but instead got furious. "I AM NOT JAYDEN!" It shouted. "Alright! geez man!" I quickly changed the subject. "What should I draw today?" I wondered. Maybe about the strange dream I had, or a detailed landscape?. Or maybe something simple, like what I hear when I listen to music. Maybe I would base it off of some songs Shiata recommended. First was "La Primavera" then "Nightmare Parade" Both songs were what the group "Fake Type" was known for. No, Shiata didn't understand without subtitles.
That didn't stop her from listening to it though! As I set it up the song to play, I reached for my pencil. But it wiggled and squirmed away from me. "You'll have to catch me first!" It chanted. To make matters worse, I just blurted out "Oh wow, Jayden learned something new!". "I SAID I'M NOT JAYDEN!". Then suddenly the pencil violently thrashed around the desk. I wasn't surprised at all, and made no hesitation to grab it. There it lay, limp in the palm of my hand. "Knew it was fake from the start." I muttered. He clicked "play" on the song he was loading. What he drew on that paper was strange, so strange that the voice just had to criticize it. "The heads too big, The legs and feet are too small, and those eyes are big for a human!" Blurted the voice. "Would you just let me do what I do?!" I shouted at the voice furiously. "Okay, but it's not MY fault if it comes out to cartoony!" The voice replied. Then it was quiet again. It was as if it was actually listening to me....but it was silly to think that. Not because it was a voice, but because no one had ever listened to me. When he finished the drawing, the thought still roamed my head. After that I would have eaten dinner, taken a shower and went to bed. But I didn't feel so hungry now. Maybe I would go to bed early this time.
