~Chapter Five~
FAITH'S POV"JOB OBSERVING HERE. WE. GO!!!!" I screamed as I followed Mr Wifry down the hall and I held my tablet in hand. "Shut up Faith." Safira whispered.
I rolled my eyes and looked at my tablet. It now displayed every job in the city. "Warrior..." I admired. "Council member..." I said dryly.
"Scholar!" Safira squealed. "I see you girls have thought ahead on your jobs!" Wifry laughed. His laugh was strange. Almost as if he was choking on a waffle or something.
I burst out laughing and they both shot me peculiar looks. "Sorry." We continued walking until we reached a large room with walls made out of windows that had a striking view of the city.
There where a few other girls sitting there and we took two empty seats. "Hello." Someone said. I looked around until I found the speaker.
It was a girl with yellow hair and grey eyes that reminded me of a stormy day. "Hey." I replied. "I'm so nervous." I quickly added.
"Oh, me too! What will they think of me?!" The girl ran her fingers through her hair and sighed. "They?" I asked. "They-who?"
The girl looked at me. "The Presidents." She said with no specific tone in her voice. I gulped. "Oh, yea!" I exclaimed, pretending to know what she was talking about.
"Eleanor Acuna." A strangely tall man with polarized glasses came in and looked around. "That's me! Wish me luck!" The girl said. "Good luck." I smiled.

Backstory: When Kaira was 3, her house burned down in a terrible fire. Her father burned to death and her mother died on a hospital bed without finishing her last words. Kaira soon was adopted by her cousin Adam and his girlfriend Alesa. At school, however, she was constantly bullied. One of her most feared incidents happened when a bully tried to steal her amulet, a small silver dragon with wings outstretched and one sapphire eye surrounding a yin-yang symbol. She fiercely fought them off and from then on was feared by everyone except Rose, her best friend. When Rose was shot and killed during a robbery, however, Kaira became rather reclusive and spoke to no one. She eventually got help from a friend named Sam and has lived a happier life ever since.

Backstory: Cass was found on the streets at about five years old. No one knew where he came from, because no family was ever found. He didn't even know his name. The orphanage where he came from called him 'Cass', which meant 'lost case'. He ran away at the age of thirteen, so far from civilisation he didn't get a job tour until he was 16. He was given the nickname 'Wild-boy' by his colleagues and now works at the job tours showing people around.

Other/Backstory: Dawn has always suspected that there was more to life than just birthstones. She tries to fit into the Ruby stereotype, and does a good job of it, though she knows, hopes, believes there's more. She, just like the Ruby gem, is passionate and full of love, and every now and then is too proud for her own good. She plans on asking Faith, Aaron (who she likes but refuses to acknowledge the feeling since according to the city everyone has a specified match) and Safira if they might know if there's anything out there besides her city, and wants to become a Council member like Faith because she thinks that they know what goes on in the outside world.
