Chapter 3.
Wisdom and Wood

Wisdom and Wood

The day the volcano erupted the sky was black. Hot magma poured down the side of mountain G, devouring the town of Clovers. Villager screamed as their houses burt, and they ran from the flames in the sky.

As the fire calmed down, a human, Ms. Moulder was sent by her boss to search for any orphans to take refuge in the orphanage that she worked at. With no luck, she started to head home, when she felt a brush of feathers. She glanced up, and on her head was a crow, the crow flew off her, transforming in mid air to a short, grey, elf. The elf held out to Ms. Moulder a package.

“Name them magic” The elf said. As Ms. Moulder reached for the package she nodded. Once all the wait had been transferred to Ms. Moulder, the elf shot off in the form of a wolf.

Ms. Moulder opened the package and looked inside, there were the faces peering up at her. They bore the neck lasses of Clovers, unlike that elf. One face peered up at her with the most curious eyes, as if asking who she was. They were the eyes of wisdom elves. Wisdom elves’ eyes held stories untold and shown like the golden ray of dawn.

The other faces held misery and love, but these eyes were just questions, thousands of questions. The little elf stuck her hands in Ms. Moulder’s face. The others followed her and soon all Ms. Moulder could see was the word “sorcerer” scribbled on soft skin.

The words vanished but the image was burnt into the innocent eyes of the woman. The arms resided and one of the Human babies rested her head on the head of the other. She cried out in pain! Ms. Moulder looked for what caused the pain and saw two brown horns sticking out of the other child’s head. She had been mistaken, she wasn’t human at all!

Those horns were those of a wood demon.

All creatures lived peacefully side by side each other, the orphanage was full of humans, elves and beasts, but this was the first demon they had. Demons were thought to be extinct, but there was evidence of some survivors. The Humans, Elves, and Beasts had grown scared of them, for they had the qualities of all superior beings, the braveness of humans, the stealthiness of elves and the fierceness of beasts. Wood Demons were the most powerful of all.
