Louis Finds Out

After losing five games in a row, I decided to take a break. I walked into the kitchen and started to make a sandwich. Then I heard my phone go off. I froze for a few seconds, recognizing the ringtone, then recovered and answered carefully. It was my ex-boyfriend, Tom.
"WHERE ARE YOU?!" he screamed into the phone. I jumped and took a deep breath, then answered. "I'm with my family, Tom."
I heard Tom's now-familiar growling that told me he was about to punch something, and then the other side of the phone became eerily quiet. I waited for a few seconds then quietly asked, "Tom? Are... Are you okay?"
"I can not believe that you really meant that." Tom said in a calm voice that scared the crap out of me. I gulped and tried to sound indifferent. "Well, I did. And I mean this, too: I do not want to hear from you, or see you, ever again. Okay?"
"Oh, you'll see me again, baby. You're going to hear from me, too. Until then, love you, and good-bye." Tom's tone of voice made me start to shake in fear, and I was going to retort, but he hung up before I could.
I took a deep breath, hoping it would calm my nerves, and closed my phone. Putting it back into my pocket, I turned towards the door, only to see Louis standing there, a strange look in his eyes.
"Who was that?" He sounded normal, but after being with Tom for five months, I knew better than to assume that he was okay. I sat down at the table and glanced at him before gazing at my hands, which were on my lap, and quietly said, "My ex."
I heard Louis shift, and when I looked up, he was sitting across from me and gazing at me with sadness in his eyes.
"You mean Tom? Why did you two break up? I mean, you guys seemed so happy the last time I saw you." He sounded a little confused, and I smiled sadly. "I'm sorry that you didn't know this, but that was an act. In reality, he was cheating on me with four other girls. When I found out, we got into a huge fight and..." I took a deep, shaky breath and continued. "He hit me."
Louis gasped. "Are you okay?"
I smiled at his concern. "Yes, I'm fine. After that, I told him that I was leaving him, and he... he went crazy. So I ran away from him and ended up at Zayn's house. He took me in, swore that he would make sure that Tom couldn't get to me, and we came here. That's about it."
Louis nodded along, then smiled at me. "Well, it's good that you went to Zayn. We can protect you from any crazy ex-boyfriends you end up with."
I laughed at his hero pose, then stood up and sighed as I heard some yelling from the living room. "Well, sounds like Niall used another cheat code." Louis said, smirking.
I looked at him. "You gave it to him, didn't you?" Louis' smirk got wider. "Maybe, maybe not." I shook my head and walked into the living room to stop Zayn and Niall from getting into a catfight.
