Husky Blue

Husky Blue was in my dreams
and my childhood friend
my parents laughed
when I talked about him
which made me sulk and feel gloom
but Husky Blue was always there
every time I felt blue
oh how his eyes relived me
they cooled my steamy wet eyes
he had a heart as warm as the sun
but eyes as cold as ice...
Whether it was a legend
or some sort of myth
I remember reading a book about
a dog that seemed like him
this dog was never heard of
only known in this book
the words they used to describe this dog
sounded just like Husky Blue,
"With eyes as icy as crystal,
with fur as white as snow,
he is well known for his wolf-like howls
as well as his heart's warming glow."
I wandered if that could be my friend
dear old Husky Blue
could he be a mythical legend?
Or was I just seeing things?
Either way
I was confused
I stopped imagining him...
Life began to get boring
I had no one to talk to
no one to run to
no one to play with
and no one hug at night.
One day, I came in from school
sulking into my pillow
my friend had hurt me ever so much
I needed Husky Blue
Then that night
I was still spilling tears
I suddenly stopped to hear
a tap, tap, tap at my window
who could've been there?
Husky Blue! I was so excited!
I opened the window wide
he jumped on my bed
we huddled against each other
the best friend I ever had...
I am now a teenager
I have lots of friends
and I'm the head girl in my school
of course I've accomplished
a couple of achievements
but I owe it all to Husky Blue...
