Chapter one.

Slowly, ever so slowly Jendi opened her eyes. Around her was the same settings she's seen since the clone wars.
At ten years old, she had experienced most of the clone wars, and experienced unplanned death.
But since then, things had gotten as best as they could with the Empire looming over the galaxy.
Getting up she put her short brown hair in a cap and rubbed her eyes.
The sunlight still hurt her even though it had been a while since the accident that left her near-blind.
But today was special, a festival was taking place to honour the end of the wars and the peace that was now held.
Alderaan was a peaceful place since weapons were band. Most people couldn't see the use.
Jendi saw the use, but still neglected them with an air of obedience.

At breakfast her father, Zon-Dii announced some thing that changed her life.
"Jendi, I have, ah, NEWS for you." He said heavily. "Since the Emperor has gained control of the galaxy a certain few will have to enroll in Imperial academy, or go into exile." Looking Jendi in the eyes he continued, sighing. "You should be prepared though, he is INTENT on finding girls like your self, quiet like yourself to be, ah, um, STUDENTS at the school."
Jendi sighed, she had expected this but had not prepared for it coming this soon.
Frowning she got up from the table, put her dishes away and rubbed her eyes.
"Anything else?" She asked, gesturing at her father's worried expression.
"No, no." He said and rose from the table as well. But, stopping him from moving away from the table was Zonra, Jendi's mom.
"Zon-Dii, remember what I told you, she must be told." She said, throwing a waring glare at him, one that meant she should be obeyed.
Zon-Dii sat down slowly, as if it used up much energy. Looking Jendi in the eyes he continued.
"Jendi, your mother is right." He pierced his lips and continued. "The person choosing the students will be the one and only, Darth Vader."
Jendi froze but still pressured herself to stay calm."So, that means he'll be testing us? Me and who? And why people 'quiet like myself'. I'm no threat."
Zon-Dii looked her sternly in the eyes. "Yes you are." He snarled and walked away in a fashion that gave Jendi the impression that he was disgusted, and disappointed.

Quietly pacing the room Jendi tried to calm herself. And failed. Miserably.
She had learn all the cracks, dents and colors of the room years ago, always in times when she tried to make herself shrink or disappear completely.
Head in her hands she sat down on the old stained covers of her bed.
Replaying her father's words in her head she defiantly said aloud "I am no threat." Pausing she looked all over her room taking in every familiar detail.
Pondering the words he had started with she realized she had blot fully heard why he was saying. "Exile, exile, but where?"
Thinking and wondering that again and again, she realized she was a bigger threat than she realized.

The red, blue and gold flowers blossomed all over the park, showering a peaceful spring look at on the beings running and laughing, trying to forget their worries. The whole (mostly) human population was gathered in parks, libraries and any other sacred space of Alderaan. The whole planet was feasting, laughing and smiling except Jendi.
She just stood there, staring at a wall, or a flower.
A few people glanced her way but soon looked away, seeing the blank expression.
The people closest to her whispered "Has she been memory wiped?" But Jendi didn't care, not one bit.
