The Arrow of Artemis

The Arrow of Artemis

My name is Sylvia Goldberg. I go to a special camp in New York called Camp Half Blood. I'm a daughter of Hades, even though I don't look like one with my bright blonde hair and olive skin tone. I became a Huntress about two months ago. But a few things have been bothering me. First of all, the new quest coming up. I'm not going to be with the other Huntresses. Second of all, this new son of Hephaestus named Michael. There's more but those two are most annoying.

Chapter 3.

Meeting Aphrodite

I slump down deeper in my bed. Nico is asleep, and I'm bored out of my mind. I get up and shake him.

"Whaaaaaat?" he groans. He rolls over so I can see his face. "I need to talk to you." I say. He grunts and rolls back over. "About what?" "A prophecy."

Nico bolts upright. "Is it about you?" he asks. I slowly nod. "But it didn't even rhyme!" I complain. Nico laughs. "Do you remember it?" he asks. I nod.

"Huntress of Artemis, onto this quest, conquering things, like seeing real death. Six other halfbloods will join in, but a quest is only made for three. Fire and storm shall untie, to defend the earth, switch over sides."

Nico goes silent. "I know two of the people who have to come." he mutters. "Thalia and Leo. Storm and fire."

I think for a moment. After Rachel recited the prophecy, she seemed very uneasy. More than usual. Wait.. there's a second part!

"Nico!" I shout. "There's a second part to the prophecy!"

~~~~~
I walk down the road that Nico told me to go down. I have my backpack with mortal money, a flashlight, a dagger, ambrosia, batteries, and a water bottle with a few Band-Aids. I honestly don't know where I am going or who I'm meeting with. All Nico told me was his dream.
In his dream, he saw me talking to a woman down the road I'm walking on. He wouldn't tell me who, though I'm pretty sure he knows who.
I keep walking, until I bump into someone. I look up and see a beautiful woman.
"Aphrodite." I realize. The woman laughs. "Yes, Sylvia. I want to talk with you."
~~~

I sit down across from her at the café. "The other part of the prophecy. What is it?" I ask. Aphrodite takes a sip of her expresso. "Ahh. I cant tell you that, young one. You have to decide your destiny, not me." I sigh. Why cant I ever just get an answer!
