Chapter 4

It's Wednsday. Groannnn. Another school day with double science and double maths and worst of all... I have to face Jack. I can't. I just can't. Not after last night."Hun-eee-eee. Stellabella!!!!" Moms voice comes bounding up the stairs. I stare at her, with her ash blonde hair piled into a floppy bun with stray curls escaping from under her alice band. "Hun-bun! What's up?" I shrink away from her hand. "Boy issues. And its the boy causing the problem." Mum laughs,a soft understanding laugh. "Isn't it awlways? Look, come downstairs, have some brekkie and when you come back from school tell me about it."

Slowly, I step out of bed and shrug on my uniform and slling my limp, blonde hair into a ponytail. When I trudge downstairs, I seeMoJo rolling about naked at the bottom of the stairs. "MoJO!!!" Mum hurries after him giggeling. Normaly, I would be part of the usual chace the get some clothes onto Mojo, but today I can't be bothered. "Mummm, I want Stewwa to chwase me!" Mum gives me a GO ON look. I stick my pink toungue out at him and walk into the kitchen. Can't be bothered today. Breakfast turns out to be chocolate chip pancakes which I put in my lunchbag to eat later.

Now I'm at school, and I can see Courtney and Jack sitting on a wall laughing and gossiping. My legs carry me away from them when suddenly, "Stels! STILLETO-GIRL (Thats what jack calles me when he rlly wants my attention)" I see him jumping off the wall with his mopp of dark hair and icy blue eyes. He's coming towards me and I just freeze on the spot. This never happened before- he cheated on me.

He puts an arm around my shoulder. "Look, I'm so sorry about last night. Hey, hormones, watch what they do." I snuggle up closer under his armpit. Courtny sashays towards us, she doesn't look happy. "So she's ur girlfreind. Tiny, aint she?" She tweaks my hair and I step away from her. "Yeh, she is right here!" Courtny raises and eyebrow, "Tiny and lippy, what do you see in her Jack." Jack shakes his head, "be nice Courts." Courts??? I gulp.

The whole day she tries to snuggle up close to him, and twirl her finger around his tie, breathing in his ear. Jack just looks bored and sometimes he just shrugs her off but sometimes he just lets her do her stuff. I feel seething.

We are now sitting in the canteen and me and Jack have a few seconds alone before Courtny comes up. "Innocent, you say. She seems pretty into you and you dont seem to be doing much about it!" Bitterly, I mumble into my chocolate pancake. Jack laughs. "Look, she hasnt seen me for ages. She's just tryna see where she'll get with me." My throat goes dry. "..and where's that?" Jack's face soften and he places his hand over mine, "Man Stel, you'll always be at the top of my ladder. My girlfreind, y'know, my one love. She'll just be second place as  a really close freind, she knows that."

"Really close freind?" Courtny repeates. She sits next to Jack pouting. "Damnit, Can't I move a step up if I try really really hard, babes?" Jack waggles his finger at her," Na-ah, that place is taken by Stella." She tosses her hair, "Can't I rent it for a few months?" She puts her leg on his lap, he shakes it off. "Nope can do" I feel sour and sick inside watching them flirt with each other. Without them noticing, I pick up my lunch bag and throw it all in the bin. Jelousy is strong.
