Chapter 3
I'm at home, unfortunatly, stuck with the task of washing my baby brother MoJo. My mum is evil. MoJo is just the hardest thing to wash. He likes to splash about his plastic ducks and boats and struggles when I try to pour water over him. All he's happy to do is play and slosh about in water. Still, he makes it so hard to wash him that he takes my mind off Jack. My heart aches. "You're done!" I gasp as I try to tackle him out of the bath."Nonono, not enuff pwaying time!" He looks confused, "You havent soawpped me."
"Yeh, well, don't tell mum or the duck gets it!" I plunge his body out of his water paradise and towel his chubby body dry.Nice. Now I can have a bath. He toddles out of the room.
I unplug all the dirty water and literaly ripp all my clothes off. Maybe the water can help soothe my aching heart. Icy. I shiver. I've put in only cold water. I don't care. I dont dont care. The freeze chills me and shocks me. Thats not the only thing.
"Is Stella in?" I hear Jacks urgnt voice.
"Yeh, she's washing MoJo, come on in." Mums voice is loud and clear. NO! DONT COME IN! footsteps.Someone twists the door handle, he's coming in! I scrunch up into a ball. The water reaches my waist. Hopefuly, in this position, he can only see my back and arms.
"STELLA!?!?" I groan. The door doesn't slam shut. He's coming towards me. There he is, standing beside a naked me in a bath. I scrunch up into a tghter ball.
Silence.
I feel his finger trail up and down my spine. His fingers are soft against my back. It tickles. Suddenly-
"Wha! This water's freezing! Stella you're gonna kill yourself in this water!"
Silence.
"STELLA!" I hear the desperate tone in his voice.
"Get out so I c-c-can, g-get changed th-then." He leaves, but only before gently kissing the tip of my shoulder.
When he leaves, I gingerly wobble out of the bath. The freezing water has made me numb and I can barely move. Tiptoeing, yes tiptoeing, towards my room, I shove on my tight wooly jumper and a pair of skinny jeans. My wet hair is heavy against my scalp so I towel it. I stand up right as Jack walks into the room.
"No. I don't want to." Snuffle. Sniff.
"Stella..." he grasps my hand and pulls me towards him. My back fits nicely against his chest. "That girl you saw me with, her name's Courtny. I knew her before I came to this school, before I met you. I was about 13-14, we were child hood sweethearts." I wince. "Then one day, we had a huge aurgument. We split up and I left her school. Her parents took her to another countrey. In this new school, I found someone I loved... You. Our relationship between us was richer, sweeter, and better than anything me and her ever had. I forgot all about her, then one day I recieved a letter from her. When I was seeing you.We've been sending letters ever since.Only letters. Innocent letters."
The question hangs in the air, why didnt you mention me to her? Why didnt you tell me about these 'inncocent letters'.
Suddenly, I ask, "Did you and her, d-did you ever make...love..." He ducks his head. "This was befor I met you..." His voice cracks.
I stand up, "Yu said you were a virgin! Now I know you've done it with TWO girls besides me!!! How will I be special, if you've had it 2 times before? I'm just third. You'll always be special to me because your my first!! You and her have something me and u don't have!" I'm crying and sobbing. God, I must look like such a desporado.
He reaches out for my arm, "You'll always be special to me. You'll always be the specialist one to me. Please Stella-"
"NOO! Just go away!"
He yells back at me, "THIS WAS BEFOR I MET YOU, HOW CAN YOU HATE ME FOR SOMETHING THAT HAPPENED BEFORE I MET YOU?"
His comment hurts and stabs my heart. "Don't you remember?" I hiss "You had it with Amanda when you were with me. That was after you met me."
Silence.
He storms out of the room.
SLAM! STOMP! "Jack, stay for dinn-" SLAM! My mom rushes upstairs and stands in the doorway. "Hon, Jack just left, he seemed really upset?"
