In the ending of Mockingjay, Katniss, Peeta, and others discuss whether or not they would put Capitol children through the Hunger Games after Panem became a democracy, modeled after their ancestors.

Not the children, they're just innocent kids who don't know any better than what they've been taught. Maybe the adults since they know very well that children are being forced to kill each other.

Fair point, but the adults are the people who could do something to stop it. Children don't know any better.

And how exactly would they do something to stop it? They're freakish and helpless; any rebellion on their part can immediately lead to their quiet deaths.

No. Because then I'd be just like President Snow. Why repeat what's already happened, when you can make a better world? You can improve the world, rather than repeating the wrongdoing of your government. When you think about it, President Snow is the only one that truly deserved to go into the Games, because if anyone disobeyed him, he would kill them.

no... not children, the adults. they need to learn a lesson, its too late for them, but the children are of use and are innocent! eventually they will learn and the adults will get back what they deserve!
