@NicoDiAngleo It actually much more noticeable as you get older. There’s a huge difference in restless sleep from depression and restless sleep from age.

I hate the holidays for a reason. It’s when I truly realize how corrupt my family can be. Stabbing me one minute, cradling me in their arms the next. Me putting on a mask and being forced to face the people I fear daily and pretend to like them. People I feel distant from saying their family. And having to pretend it’s fine.
Having to hide the fact that I highly dislike parts of my family and pretending I do care about them.
I don’t.
If they dropped off the face of the earth, the only reason I’d miss them is because they’d cared about the others I cared about. Some of them. At least.
I hate the holidays because I have to pretend I am oh so happy when I am dying inside more than ever, and God forbid I get upset on Jesus Christ’s birthday! God forbid I have feelings in general, y’know?
Last Christmas my stepbrother said he didn’t want anything to do with me because supposedly I hate him and such when I ADORE him.
Every Christmas my stepmother spoils us to make up for the past days she’s yelled and abused us.
Every Christmas my grandmother spoils me and then becomes homophobic later. I have YET to tell her I’m bisexual. And, oh, yeah! SHE HAS A GAY DAUGHTER.

I feel you, man. I'm in your situation, so it's not my position to say "it's okay", but people mature. Even your grandmother's got to grow. I'm sorry that your family is superficial, but at least it's preparing you for the real world.
