Halloween In December

The Broken

I open my eyes too see Jeff and Ben playing Mario Kart. I am laid on the couch. I watch them play until Ben wins. I sit up and say “good job Ben!” they both turn their heads to see me! I ask “what?” Jeff asks “how long have you been up?” I say “like five minutes! Why?” Ben asks “what if something happened and we didn't even know you were awake!”

I shrug my shoulders then say “I can take care of myself I am not a baby!” Ben says “still! You need to tell one of us stuff like that!” I sigh and say “fine but only because it will make you feel better!” I sit up then ask “what happened?” Ben says “don’t know! Toby brought you here and said you just passed out!”

I say “yeah that happens a lot! Used to happen at least once a week!” they both looked at me concerned and Jeff is about to say something but I cut him off saying “before you ask I have a very weak immune system! I used to get sick a lot! I was in and out of the hospital at least ten times before I turned five! I remember every time I was there I would get a popsicle and my mom would turn on little einsteins!”

I start to cry “I had to take so many medicines and none of them worked! I was always back some time within the month!” Ben smiles and Ben asks “you ok?” I nod my head and say “yeah! Just having memories! I had the hospital memorised like the back of my hand!” I wipe my tears and say “I had such a bad life and yet...I was always so happy! I always told myself that there was someone else in a different place that was going through more than me! I also have gender dysphoria!”

just then a demon appears on the couch next to me I say “hi! What’s your name?” the demon says “Ell!” I feel a sharp pain in my soul and gasp for air. I look at Ell. She smiles and I mumble “what are you doing to me?” she smiles then disappears! I feel like a pound of bricks is set on my chest. I gasp for air and between breaths I say “get...slender!” Jeff gets up and quickly leaves the room everything slowly fades to black...end of chapter forty two
