Chapter 1

Guns going off. Bullets flying left and right. Then there is me and well I'm stuck in the crossfire. Let me go back three days from now and tell you what's the hell's going on.

3 days earlier

It was early in the morning the sun was out and birds were chirping. Some children where getting their parents to take them to school, some teens were driving theirselves, then there are the rest of us who just have to walk. Now I'm not complaining I love the walk to school, sometimes, I get to listen to my music and shut the world out. No children screaming. No cars going by. No birds chirping. All I hear is music nothing else.Well that was until some brat in a black muscle tee ran into me on a skateboard.

I stumbled forward accidentally yanking my ear phones out my ears. Asshole never even looked back to apologize. I mean really what the hell is wrong with people these days.

Sighing I put my ear phones back in and tried to play my music again, keyword is tried. When I started to play my music again it had a grainy, static sound. Great, just great. I still got five damn more minutes till I get to school. How worse could this day get?!

                                              *

Well apparently it can get A LOT worse. When I went inside my class every one got quite. Then I got to desk. Words like 'bitch' 'whore' 'skank' 'piece of shit' 'go die' 'usless' 'MURDERER' 'psychopath' had been carved into the top. As I went to sit down I started hearing chuckles. Now this should have been a warning. A warning a just decided not to listen to, so I sat down. Next thing I know, I'm in the floor pieces of my desk scattered on me and around me. Everyone was pointing and laughing.

My heart starts to race, head starts to hurt, nausea kicks in, and I just want it all to stop. So I do the only thing I can think of.....run. Run away from it all, the voices, the people, their words, and their actions. I run to the only place where there's people. I run home.

Tears blurred my vision. I could see nothing but a blur of colors ,and every time I would wipe them away they came right back. Every person I passed look at me with pity. I don't want their pity. I don't even want them to look at me. I want for them to stop looking. I want to be invisible like I normally am.

                                             *

Home. A place of peace. A place of comfort. The only place I have to go to in this world. It was a simple yet beautiful place. The yard was covered in luscious green grass and had a small straight walkway that went from the street to the front door. The house was one story, built from bricks with two small windows to the right of the front door and a large one to the left.

I walked up to the steel door that had a bizzare design on it that I could never describe. Grabbing my keys, that were in my bag, I placed the correct key in the door knob and unlocked the door. Opening the door I listened for any sound. Nothing.....just peace and quiet. I placed my backpack on the hanger to the left of the door and took of my shoes setting them right below my back pack. Wanting to get a snack I started walking to the kitchen, that was until I walked by the living room see the one person I was hoping was not home. The old women I live with......Helen.

She was in her early sixties but looked in her late forty’s early fifties. Short blonde hair that was below her ears but above her shoulders. Green eyes that held an entire forest in them. Then there was her weird ass clothing, her shirt had blue and green stripes going left and right and one section on her shoulder that had red and pink stripes doing up and down. Her pants well they were orange and her feet had purple fuzzy socks over them. She says it’s fashion.

I was really hoping she would be at work not at home with her arms crossed giving me a stern look. I walked half way in the room and waited for her to speak “What are you doing home school hasn’t been let out yet?” Scratching the back of my neck I gave her a lop sided smile. “School let out early so I decided to come home.”

Helen raises her eyebrow and that only means one thing.......she knows I'm lying. "Now we both know that ain't true."

There was silence. I don't know if I should tell her or keep quiet. "Some stuff happened at school. I dont really want to go into detail about it." God please don't let this conversation go any further. I don't feel like talking about it anymore.

Helen gives me one of her warm smiles "Alright if that's it you can go." I turned around and started to walk to the door until she stopped me once more. "Since tomorrows a Friday how about you stay home and I call the school and tell them your sick." I've only been with this old women for a year and she knows me like the back of her hand.

With a small greatful smile I look over my shoulder at her "Thanks Helen you really are the best."

As I walked away with a smile on my face I heard her mumble "Anything you need hun." This women is the best thing in my life no matter what happens I know she will be there. Grabbing a quick snack from the kitchen I head to my sanctuary aka my room.

Red walls, two black dressers, and a queen sized bed with black pillows and sheets. Turning the room light on I threw myself face down on my bed. I fell like I'm on a soft fluffy cloud and I could sleep forever. So that's what I did.

                                                -

Dark smoke was everywhere.....it surrounded me. I can feel my room rising in temperature. The smoke starts to enter my lungs and I cough roughly. Lowering to the ground I try to crawl out of my room into the hall way. Looking left I seen a wall of fire that I can't get through. When I looked left I was able to see the window at the end of the hall.

Crawling to the window I felt something start to burn my back and I cried out in pain. I tried to crawl through the pain but it was hard ,then I seen something I never thought I would ever see. A body ,a burnt body that I couldn't even identify but by the look of it and the room it was beside I think it's my mom. When I looked to where her room was I seen the door had been opened and her room was covered in flames nothing was left untouched. I pray everyone else was able to get out in time.

As I got to the window it had a crack extending from the top to the bottom and smoke residue lied on it. Turning the latch to unlock the window I opened the window and crawled out the best I could.

When I was half way out the window I lost my balance and fell out. I tried to scoot away from the house and the farther I started to lose my vision. Everything was becoming black and the last thing I heard before passing out was sirens.

                                                -

"Hun it's time to wake up you've been asleep for away." Groaning I turning on my back "What time is it?" "Three o'clock." Proping myself on my elbows I raise a brow at her "Why didn't you wake me up earlier?" Chucking at me she shrugged her shoulders "You looked tired so I let you sleep. Pizza tonight?" Smiling at her I sat up and stretched my limb "That sounds wonderful can't wait."

As Helen walked away I grabbed my phone out of my back pocket and got on YouTube. Pulling up Markipliers page I looked for one of his 'Try Not To Laugh Challege' videos I started watching it. After catching up on Markipliers videos I decided to watch The Game Theorist.

Time past and five o'clock came by, which means I need to get my lazy ass out of bed and see if Helen's got the delicious food we talked about earlier. Walking through the hallway I heard the front door open and decided I would scare Helen. Hiding on the hallway wall where she can't see me I waited for her to walk by. When she walked by I just by and yelled scaring her to death, she jumped like five feet in the air. Turning around I she gave me one of her 'What the hell' looks and I fell on the floor roaring with laughter.

"What do you think you're doing you brat?! I almost dropped our pizza! If I had done that you wouldn't be getting any food for the rest of the night!" Wipping the tears out of my eyes I look ar her figure that was walking away from me "You know that's bullshit you wouldnt let me starve." Getting up off the floor I could hear her mumble things under her breath.

Stuffing my hands in my pants pocket I walked into the dining room and sat in one of the chairs. "What do you want to drink?" Helen yelled from the kitchen. Opening the pizza box, that was in front of me, I grabbed a slice "Lemonade." I heard Helen chuckle from the kitchen and walk into the dining room "Is that all you drink." Taking a bite from my pizza I responded "No I drink soft drink." Looking up at Helen I seen with a 'Yea sure you do face' and continued eating my pizza.

As Helen sat down and grabbed a pizza to eat looking at me she asked "What do you want to do tomorrow? We could go shopping, or the water park or -" I cut Helen of as quickly as I could "Let's go to the water park I haven't been in forever!" I shouted with sparkles in my eyes. Helen gave me a questioning look but with a goofy smile on her face "Water park it is. We will have to leave early so try and get some sleep." I looked at her and nearly chocked on my food "You know how hard it is for me to sleep at night. I normally have to go on a damn night walk to go to sleep." Sticking her hand up, to where her pinky was facing me, she waves it left and right "I know. I know. I just want you to try and if you can't it's fine if you need to go on a walk."

"Thanks Helen."

                                              *

It's two in the morning, my bags are packed of of course I can't get any sleep. So I do the only thing i can......leave the house for a nightly walk. Changing my pajamas into a black jogging outfit, I walked to the door and put on my black high top converse.

Grabbing my house keys I unlocked the door and walked out the house turning around to lock the door back. I started walking away from the house onto the sidewalk. The night had a nice breeze and dark sky. The only sound was the buzzing of the street lights that were off to the side of the sidewalk. It was very tranquil tonight and I was at peace for once.

Looking down at the ground I noticed that bright lights were approaching me. Lifting my head up I noticed a black van pass me then pull over to the side. Stopping in the middle of the street, I notice two tall figures, one in a weird black suite and the other in a long white coat, exit the van and turn to me. I wanted to run. I wanted to run so bad but my body was frozen. I couldn't move. As the figure moved closer I grew more scared. The tall figures stood in front of me I was able to look more closely at them.

The one with the long white coat was about 5'9, in his early forties, with blond hair and brown eyes. He had a large smile on his face that showed wrinkles around his mouth and on his forehead. The other man was about 5'11, in his early twenties, with black hair and blue eyes. He was staring at me with a blank face no expression what-so-ever.

"Excuse me miss we need you to come with us." The man in the white coat said to me, without breaking his smile. "Sorry sir but I'm not suppose to go anywhere with strangers."

Everything started to go black. The last thing I saw was the man in the white coat smiling devilishly and the man in black was gone.

"Sorry but no is wrong answer."
