Zombie

Chapter Three

Tuesday 13,2090
“How was it?” Nikki asked Elijah, smirking. Elijah punched a zombie that was about to attack them and looked at her.
“What?” Elijah asked.
“You know, the kiss with the cutest girl in the whole school”Nikki told Elijah and he nodded.
“It was fabulous. I should’ve asked her out sooner, instead of watching her from the sidelines”.Elijah daydreamed.
“Calm down lover boy. If we kill her, we may be safe, for now.”
“You mean Tiffany ,right? I thought I recognized the names.”Elijah growled, mad that their mom and dad’s friend’s childrens are targeting their friends.
“I knew it was them” Nikki growled.
“We should now worry about keeping ourselves safe from the zombies” Elijah said to Nikki as he used the hatchet to bash the skull of one of the zombies.

“That a**hole! He stole one of our weapons” Joshua cursed.
“Calm down Joshua! That was originally their weapon anyway.” Xander chimed in.
“Arghhh!” Joshua bellowed, then felt Alyssa ’s head to see if she’s still sick.
“Her head is fiery hot!” commented Aaron.
“I am in love, Joshy” Alyssa  commented.

“Argh, my head is pounding!” Elijah said. Nikki killed the remaining zombies and rush to Elijah.
        “Can you walk?” stammered Nikki, scared.
“Yes”croaked Elijah, his voice fading off. ‘Oh yeah… Nikki was sick’ Nikki thought, bitterly. Nikki brought him to a small store.
“Rest here Elijah.” Nikki quavered.
“Ok…. don’t get killed.” warned Elijah.
“Ok don’t worry I won’t” assured Nikki. She locked the doors and searched for a medical book.
“Oh? I knew you would be here. You are Nikki right?” a female voice confirmed.
“Yeah and who are you?”Nikki affirmed, shooting back another question. She turned around to see a girl with brown wavy hair and green eyes.”Tiffany.” Nikki hissed.

“What do you mean? Did Elijah and Nikki do something to you?” Joshua yelped, puzzled. Nikki shook her head and smiled.
“Would you approve me of dating Elijah?” Alyssa  wondered.
“What? No way!” Joshua bursted out.
“Please??” Alyssa  pleaded.  Suddenly her phone buzzed.
From : Nikki
Subject: You are in love~~~
*Picture File* I SHIP YOU!!!
Alyssa blushed, showing the picture of the Kiss to Joshua. He was spitting fire. And by fire, I mean Fire.
“Ok ok. So you know what Elijah warned us about?Do you guys know what he means?” wondered Xander.
“Yeah yeah, he probably means ‘We will attack you so don’t worry and act like idiots’.” Joshua betted, playing with his tennis racket.
“Stop it Joshua!” warned Aaron, seeing that Summer and Connor were about to cry.
        “Yeah, they were probably involved with a business that we don’t know about!” Bianca broke in.

        “Tiffany.” hissed Nikki.
        “Oh so you know who I am huh?” Tiffany smiled.
“Why are you targeting our friends?” Nikki asked.Instead of answering, Tiffany threw a straight on punch which Nikki caught.  A fist shadow was behind Nikki and she dodged it.
“I guess it’s one against five..” Tiffany snickered.
“Nope you are wrong….It’s two against five..” a voice groaned.
“Elijah!” Tiffany uttered.
“Go back to sleep!” Lauren instructed,  trying to kick Elijah.
“Don’t do that, Lauren!” Tiffany gasped. Elijah blocked the kick flawlessly and punched her, square in the face.
“That’s it! Get them bro!!” cheered Nikki from the sidelines.
“Don’t forget about us!” a really really high pitched voice squealed.
“Caroline?! I told you to guard the outside!” TIffany declared.
“Pluease! I don’t have to listen anymore… We were all only here because your parents had money before they died.”Caroline admitted. Tiffany glared at the group. But Caroline must have left the door open because groaning noises were filling the store really quick. Nikki led Elijah through a window and hid Elijah in an empty trashcan and ran inside. What Nikki saw was hideous…. Caroline was the first to die since she stood the closest to the door. Martin tried to help her but since her grip was tight, she ended up dragging Martin into the mess. All throughout, the two could only hear Martin screaming “Bloody Murder. Caroline! Let-”  He couldn’t even finish the ‘GO!” part before he was pulled by a zombie, leading him to the same fate as Caroline. Tiffany stared at her used-to-be friends with disgust. They were too distracted by the mess  Lauren and Duncan ran away leaving Tiffany to deal with ,at least, 30 zombies. There was a medium opening to the outside since Duncan and Lauren decided to trap the two inside, trying to kill them. Nikki used her weapon( a screwdriver that was lying around) to break a bigger hole for both of them to fit through.  Nikki got through first and held her hand to Tiffany who grabbed it. A zombie tried grabbing Tiffany’s legs but Nikki pulled her up just in time, but in the process losing her precious necklace. A nearby wood caught the necklace, making Nikki have to reach down farther and grabbed it, not before a zombie, who was eagerly digging for flesh, dug his nails deep inside her eyes.
“Arghhhh”Nikki cried, grasping her eye as blood was streaming down her face, still grasping the necklace that she was so eager to save tightly in her hands. Elijah, who had came out by then, ran to Nikki, not caring that Tiffany was there.
        “She will be infected…”Tiffany started. Elijah turned around and looked at her, making her jump a little. Elijah was about to punch her, outta pure anger, until she yelled, “Stop! I know how to cure her!”
“How?”he asked.
“Come on!” Tiffany hurried motioning for Nikki and Elijah to follow. Elijah looked at her suspiciously, deciding whether or not to trust her.
“She saved my life, Elijah. I have to help her.” Tiffany reminded Elijah. Finally, without hesitating, Elijah ran after Tiffany with Nikki in his hands,  his heart racing with determination that the girl running in front of him will save his little sister from turning into a monster.  
They reached a huge hospital and ran inside.  Tiffany walked inside with Nikki on a hospital bed and Elijah beside her.
“She may lose an eye.” Tiffany told Elijah.
“But is she ok?” Elijah asked, putting on the necklace that Nikki was tryna save. Tiffany nodded.
“You know you are not so bad at heart.” Tiffany commented.
“Just because our parents “killed” your parents doesn’t mean that we are cold hearted.” Elijah shrugged, informing Tiffany. “Your parents had cancer..”
“What???” Tiffany yelled.
“Your parents had cancer.” Elijah repeated. “Our parents were just covering it up because we were told to..”
        “Stop...we...aren’t...suppose...to tell….them.” Nikki groaned.
“The doctors already removed the zombie infection before it spreaded. But they had to removed an eye.” Tiffany informed.
“Oh that’s why I can’t see perfectly.” Nikki concluded, then looked at Tiffany. “Thanks for saving me, I guess?”
“I-I-It’s nothing.” Tiffany spluttered, still looking at Elijah.
“Do you want to travel with us?”Elijah offered. Tiffany nodded excitedly. She was never this excited with her friends before, but after knowing the truth, she decided to give them a chance.
“Do you guys wanna stock up on some stuff while you are here?” Tiffany questioned, motioning the whole building. They nodded.

“What should we be doing?” Cassandra asked.
“I don’t know. I want food.” Xander groaned.
“Let’s hit the city and go shopping!!!” Summer squealed hugging Alyssa  who was all well and ready to go.
“I guess that’s ok but we are splitting up in groups,ok?” Scarlett asked the team. They shook their heads.
“Hey Scarlett,  we have to stay together you know?” Connor protested as Summer agreed. After a long argument, the sun was down. The team, Summer and Connor named them all “The Powerfullest”, decided to move out tomorrow.
Wednesday 14, 2090
“Wake up! Wake up!” repeated Nathaniel, attempting to wake up Scarlett, who was right beside him.
“What do you want Nate?” Scarlett groaned.
“We are moving out, remember? ” Aaron asked, putting on his jacket.
“It’s oddly peaceful.” Layla commented.
“Yeah, we saw them heading to the city.” Xander told Layla.
“I suddenly don’t feel like going anymore.”Aaron joked.
“Weren’t they creepy?” Connor quizzed,  looking around.
“Yeah.” Summer nodded, playing on her phone that Nikki had retrieved for her during the outbreak.  They opened the gates and walked outside, determined to survive this disaster.
