Chapter 8.

The Tests + The Chipmunk

This dream is in two parts.

THE TESTS

My homeroom teacher (Mr. H) kidnapped me and around 9 other kids. He then put us through a series of tests, each one incredibly disturbing.
We had to pull the skin off of our bodies and stab ourselves with knives.
We had to sit in a shadowy room while clowns jumped out and scared us.
And finally, we had to kill each other to see who'd be the last one left. The winner would get to leave.

I won, but for some reason, I stayed - I wanted to "train" some more.

THE CHIPMUNK

Mr. H had kidnapped a few more kids, and as we were trying to do another test/challenge where we were on a couple floating islands, I noticed that there was a bridge leading to another floating island, on which there was a large school. I crossed the bridge and entered the school.

Inside the school were lots of tables, and each one had a group of kids, a teacher, a small cardboard castle, and a guinea pig. The kids would work on doing different exercises (such as coloring), and the guinea pigs were the class pets.

My mother sat at one of the stations. I went over to her and joined in one or two of the activities. But suddenly, there was a commotion - the guinea pig from another station had gotten loose! Luckily, I was really good with animals, so I was able to catch it.

Then, I saw that a chipmunk had somehow gotten into the school and was running around on the floor. I grabbed a small backpack and chased the chipmunk. It darted into a room near the lobby of the school.

I peered through the windows of this room, and saw a couch. My grandmother was sitting on it, watching TV. I climbed through the window and warned her that there was a loose chipmunk near her! I finally managed to catch it. Then I put it in my backpack and set out to release it outside.

I went out the back doors of the school, and - for some reason, I couldn't find my way to a suitable place to let the chipmunk go free. At first, there was a forest, blocked by a fence. I asked a teacher to help me get to the forest, and she led me through the small vegetable gardens in the back of the school. Unfortunately, this did not lead me to the forest; instead, the landscape somehow gradually transformed into a rocky mesa.

There were lots of different desert reptiles slowly emerging from cracks and crevices, and I was scared. I took the chipmunk out of my bag, about to just let it go here, but it could suddenly talk to me now. It told me to not be afraid of the lizards. But when I stopped fearing them, they started to advance. I yelled at the chipmunk, asking it why it lied to me, and it said something like, "But this is good. Now the lizards will kill us, and we can be free from this madness."

I was having NONE of that crap, and I REALLY wanted to let the chipmunk go soon. Right around that time, I realized I was dreaming - so I closed my eyes, focused as hard as I could, and tried to teleport back to the school (because I was lost in the mesa now, and I figured that the school would at least have a better forest-like option than here). Weirdly, it didn't work the first couple times - but it eventually did.

I opened my eyes and found myself lying on the pavement of the driveway in the school. Ecstatic, I took the backpack and ran around to the back. I let the chipmunk free, but to my absolute HORROR, some of the mesa had stayed with me - there was a gigantic canyon in the back of the school! And to my even GREATER horror, there was a FREAKING TYRANNOSAURUS REX near the edge of the ravine!! Just then, a teacher came out of the school - I think so he could check on me - and froze when he saw the T-rex.

Desperate, I pleaded with the dinosaur. I said, "Please don't hurt us! I'll give you some meat if you promise not to hurt us!" (I somehow had slabs of meat in my backpack now.) The T-rex agreed, and I tossed the meat down into the canyon, hoping to lure him to his death.

The T-rex jumped, all right, but he somehow climbed back up the side after he ate the meat. And even worse, he broke his promise, and went after the teacher! The teacher frantically tried to get back inside the school, but the T-rex started crushing the building.

I'd seen enough - I HAD to get out of this dream! I went to the front of the school and lay down on the pavement once more. This dream was all wrong - first, I couldn't control my teleportation; and second, I was unable to make friends with the T-rex! I squeezed my eyes shut and tried to wake up.

When I opened my eyes, I was in my bed! I was SO relieved to be safe and sound, because that was DEFINITELY one of the most weird, disturbing, disgusting, and horrifying dreams I've had in a while.
