This refers to character development and ideas.  Many will be metaphors

Book 1:
-Would something bad be forgiven if that was the result of something good (best way I can explain)
-Can someone be forgiven for something seen wrong, even if it isn't inherintley evil?
-Can someone abusive be forgiven if their abusive behaviors have changed?

Book 2:
-What makes someone break?
-How much can power break a person?
-Can someone heal after going through literal hell?

Book 3:
-How do you calm down after a storm?
-The healing process of the characters

All 3:
-Can people recognize certain traits of a character without it being downright said or following a stereotype?
