The Nameless
Chapter 4.

Memories

"Fine. As far as we know, there are three types of Memories. The first type, are the ones that pop into people's head when they first think of them. They can remember back to their own past, obliterating the affects of Changes, that cause you to forget everything but the basics. The second type are ones that can remember any general scene from their lifetime, like wars, international events, and things like that. The third type, which is probably the most dangerous, are a type of Memories that can enter someone else's past. These people have to be relatively close, however. They are the most dangerous because they can go through your life and discover your greatest strengths and weaknesses, and use them against you.
We have people working inside the Government keeping tabs on whoever they may think are Memories. For example, you, and of course, our suspicions are correct. It would be an honor for you to join the Nameless, and the Revolution," she explained.
It was a lot to take in at once. When I was inside my mind, I fit under all three of those categories. What was I then? And plus, the Revolution?! Is this all the Nameless were planning?
"So, can you tell me what you saw?" she pleaded.
"I saw a man and a woman, at first. The woman looked exactly like me, except for the eyes, they were definitely more purple. The man's eyes were just like mine, or close enough, because of my flecks of purple. My guesses were my parents. But, then I saw the president. There was another man who said that they couldn't get a read on my chip. There was a clock in the room that read the time it was a few minutes ago, so I guess whenever I view those scenes, it blocks off a chip. Which is- wait. Why would I have a chip? Why would they need it to track me?!"
She smirked, "You get a chip during your Change. The technology isn't that great, so they put a new one in every five years. They are blocked out by you entering into your memories and thoughts."
I nodded. "I see. I also saw a mass execution. And, this woman called me Rave, but that may have been a name from awhile ago."
Namera gulped. It was not my name then. "That was my birth name. That was my parent's execution. That's what they did to people who refused to do what the government said. Aside from that, you saw three scenes?" she thought for a second. "What could this mean?" she asked herself.
A man from behind her spoke up. "She is a Wisdom. A combination of all three. There were only about three of them known in existence, well, four now. they were all killed by the Government because they were known as threats. We must hide her, for she would be their ultimate prize. They would use her against us, and against the rebellion."
He looked about my age. He was tall, and had light hair, and emerald green eyes. He also had a definite jaw line. He stared at me. "You wouldn't have happened to know a girl named Jaena, I believe that is what she calls herself now. She is my sister. Twin actually."
I gaped at him. Jaena had a brother?! A twin no less. He smiled.
"I'm guessing that you have then."
Namera stepped in,"So glad that you can learn about your family, Karlos, but right now Anders needs to make a decision."
All eyes were on me.
"I'm in."
