The Nameless
Chapter 3.

Pyro Forest

Jaena didn't question where I was going, because she knew. She knew I wanted to be me for the last week before my Change. I wanted to go to Pyro Forest, because it was always calm, peaceful, silent, and especially, vacant. As far as I knew, no one went there because it was so close to where the community of the Nameless was. But, it wasn't that close.
As soon as I got there I felt different. It felt like I could see better, hear better, be better. The slight breeze gently pushed my long, wavy, caramel brown hair out of my face. The sun hit my freckled face, filling it with warmth. I ducked under a few nearby trees and sat on a perfectly polished off stump.
I soon heard rustling from behind the bushes. To my surprise, bodies came out. I leaped off of the stump, and ran behind a tree. The group of people stared at me. They had greasy faces, ratty hair, and wore dirty, stained, clothes. They were Nameless.
A girl in the front spoke up. "Anders Love. We do not wish to hurt you. We only wish to talk."
I stepped out from my hiding spot. The girl was older than I was. She looked old enough to have had her fourth Change. She wore a scrap of navy fabric around her head, much like a bandanna. I nodded.
They sat me down, and the girl started to explain what the fuss was about.
"We've been waiting for you. We know who you are. You come to this place at least once a week, for the past four years since you found it. My name is Namera, and yes, I am Nameless. Also, yes, Nameless people have names," she giggled at her own joke.
"Get to the point," I demanded.
"Yes, okay. We want you to join the Nameless. And, since you are about to have a Change, now is the perfect time to join. We all think you'd be extremely valuable to our mission," Namera explained.
I gasped. How dare she even ask of me?! "Why me?! Take someone else, I'm not interested."
"But, you have to. Especially you."
"And why is that?"
"Because you are a Memory!" she shouted.
A Memory. They were people that remembered their pasts and their Changes don't effect them. After a few weeks or so, they would convert to their normal selves, just with a new name. Besides, I couldn't be one. These people were extremely rare.
"There's no way I could be a Memory. Besides, they're extremely rare, and I can't remember my past lives. So, therefore I am not one," I concluded. I started to walk away, but Namera stopped me.
"You've never tried, and that's why. Anders, you've never changed. You never will, and that's good. Also, we don't even know what type of Memory you are," she went on. "Just try to remember your second Change."
"Fine, but after, we're going back to that 'type of Memory' stuff."
She nodded. I thought long and hard, but there was nothing. But, then, there was a 'ting' in my head. I saw a woman. She had beautiful long caramel hair and a freckles face, just like mine. Her eyes were unusually purple, but that was probably a fluke in her Change. Beside her was a man. He was muscular, but not ripped. He had dark hair, and gray eyes. My parents.
There was another 'ting.' I was still in my mind. I noticed a tall, burly man, with a light mustache and beard. President Vamerez. He was in his office with another man in a white coat.
"Sir, something is blocking out this girl's chip. We can't get a read," the man said,
The president spoke up, "Find her location, Anders Love shouldn't be that hard to find."
Another 'ting.' I saw a burst of light, and then it faded into darkness. I heard the sound of a battle. But, it was only guns. I realized it wasn't a battle at all, but a mass execution.
From where my mind let me see, I was in the arms of a woman.
"Hush, Rave, I'll be your mommy now. It'll be okay, just down out the loud noises. You're okay little girl, you're okay," The woman sung.
There was one more 'ting' before I was transported out of my mind.
"And?' Namera questioned.
"Tell me more about Memories before I say anything," I demanded.
