The Mysterious Hero
Chapter 5.

The Sun Chariot

-Percy-

I slept well, considering that I usually get nightmares whenever strange things happen during the day.  I woke up early enough to see the sun rise, so I climbed to the roof of the Poseidon cabin to watch the sunrise.  I saw a girl on the roof of the Demeter cabin watching me, so I waved.  She didn't seem to notice.

After the sun was well in the sky, I went back down to get changed.  Breakfast went slowly, and I was in no mood for blue pancakes.  I didn't know why, but I felt like something bad was going to happen, and if I was happy it would only make things worse.  The rest of the camp seemed to feel the same way.  Nico must be nearby.  Sure enough, out of the shadows he materialized and made his way towards me right away.

"Trouble on Olympus.  Hermes sent me-I don't know why- to get you because Poseidon sent him to get me to get you, because Zeus sent him to get him to get me to get you."  I only understood that I was needed by either him, Hermes, Poseidon, or Zeus from his speech, but I nodded and got up.  Behind him, I saw Artemis appear and nod towards the Apollo table where Jenna was sitting.  She disappeared, but I understood what she wanted me to do.

"Can I take someone?"  I asked Nico.

"Sure.  Annabeth?"  He guessed, and I immediately felt guilty for forgetting her.

"Two people?"  I pushed.

"Who's the second?"

"Annabeth."

"Okay, who's the first?"

"Jenna."

"Who?"  I pointed at her at the Apollo table.

"Um, okay.  I guess.  How old is she?"

"Eight, I think.  Either that or fourteen.  Or sixteen."

"What?"

"Never mind."

I went over to the Apollo table first because it was closer.  Jenna was in deep conversation about something I didn't understand.  That usually only happened with Annabeth.

"Hey."  I tapped her on the shoulder, "Come with me."  I had to keep restraining myself from talking to her like she was a little kid, because she wasn't.  Nowhere close.  I went to get Annabeth next, which was easy because as soon as she saw me she got up and walked over.

"What are we doing and who is that?"  Well, didn't she get right to the point.

"'That' has a name.  Jenna."  Jenna defended herself.

"We're going to Olympus on command of Nico on command of Hermes on command of Poseidon on command of Zeus."  I explained (well).  Annabeth looked like the news didn't surprise her, which I understood because we had been summoned there by many gods many times.  The thing that did surprise me was the fact that Jenna looked the same way.  She closed her eyes and stood there wobbling a little bit, then took a deep breath and opened her eyes.

"This is going to turn into a quest.  I can't say what, otherwise you probably won't accept.  The three of us are going to go on it, and Annabeth is going to be lost for some of it.  Percy is going to be alone for some of it.  I will be with both of you at the same time."  She informed us.

"What...?"  Annabeth started.

"I have the gift of sight."  Jenna explained.  Annabeth sighed and rolled her eyes.

"Of course she does.  Daughter of Apollo, I'm guessing?"  Annabeth sounded like she had had enough of sight.  I nodded but Jenna shook her head and looked at me, asking me to change my answer, so I shook my head,  "Then who's your godly parent?"  Annabeth sounded like she was racking her brain for other prophecy gods.

"Artemis."  Jenna said, and Annabeth stopped thinking and stared at her.

"She's telling the truth."  A voice said from behind me.  I turned around to see Apollo (Of course).  "Come on, lets go."

I had no idea why we were leaving, but I knew where, and I had a feeling it would be for a long time.  Apollo led us to his sun chariot, which was currently a red sports car.  He seemed happy that we could all fit in it without him having to change its from.  Annabeth sat in the back with Jenna, who didn't seem too excited about being restricted to sitting in the back.  Apollo turned to me.

"Want to drive?"  I shook my head frantically and he shrugged. "To Olympus!"  Then he paused, "That would be the cool thing to say, but I don't do cool 'cause I'm the sun god.  So instead I say, 'Who wants to visit the Empire State Building?'"  He slammed the gas pedal and we shot up into the air.
