Chapter 3

Kyra resisted the urge to scream and slowly moved the apple away from her. The spider started to crawl up her arm and she dropped her apple. she tried to flick it off but it kept crawling. She decided to just stay very still. It crawled up to her shoulder and sat there for the longest time.

Suddenly a bright light shone into her tree, she got up quickly. The spider bit into her neck and quickly crawled onto the tree. She gasped and squished it under her shoe as it started down the tree. Her hand went up to the small bite and forced herself to calm down. "i-its just a small spider b-bite" she said to herself

The light was gone, she took a deep breath and climbed down, grabbing her backpack. Kyra looked around carefully for the person who shone it at her, no one was there. "H-hello? anyone there?" no response. She frowned nervously.

She made her way back to the house as fast as she could and slowly opened the door, stepping inside and crept into her room. Dropping she pack she grabbed a book from her shelf, its title was 'spider and insect bites'. She opened it carefully so the spine of the old book wouldn't break, she opened to the chapter 'spiders ' and started to read.

She read until weariness overtook her and she collapsed on her bed. The book fell onto the floor and slowly closed itself.
