Forty-Six

Forty-Six

In a corrupt land called Quiara, everything it's citizens do is closely monitored and freedom is all but absent. It will take the courage of a small (but growing) group of rebels called the 46 (the meaning of life) to save Quiara and bring it back to it's former glory.

Chapter 5.
Immoral Things...

Immoral Things...

We were (again) at the Round Table. The memory of the book burning was embedded in my mind, filling me with new-found determination.

"We need to map out The Team's base." I said. "But how?"

Lucas smiled. "I got an idea."

The eighteen of us were crouched in the shadow of an alleyway, watching two Team Members stand on guard. We were all holding wooden sticks.

"Are you sure this is ethical?" I asked.

Lucas smirked that infuriating smirk. "I KNOW it's not." The nerve of him!

I sighed. It was a bad thing to do, but it was the only way.

"On 3."

"1."

"2"

"3!"

We all charged at the two Team Members, and before they could scream or shoot, we whacked them hard on the head, and I made a satisfying "clunk"ing sound.

Bree probed them with her stick. "I think they're out."

"Um..." said Crystal. "Are we going to like...strip them?"

I laughed. "They wear clothes underneath, you know."

"Oh." She blushed.

And so we stripped them (of their uniform), of their communication equipment, and their guns, for good measure, then slinked back into the shadows, carrying the bundles of clothes.

It might of been immoral, but it felt good. Plus it had gone off without a hitch.

A few hours later, the Team Members woke up, bemused and without their equipment. They both screamed, and raced off to The Team Base, not knowing about the group of rebels giggling in the shadows.
