City of Suits (not completed) By Reid H and Mira H

The entire world has been split into four quadrants. That might seem unbelievable because what you, the reader, knows the population of the world is around 7.8 billion people. Well now the population is around 10,000. In the year 3155 a plague hit known as the Crimson Breath. This deadly plague was known as the Crimson Breath because it would infect you from the inside out and almost seem as if your breath was a crimson color, and it was. This was so deadly that if there was someone, even within ten feet of you, they would get the plague too.

Chapter 3: Leo

It was cold, and the wind was whipping around our faces. Georgia started walking, without a word. After a little bit of mindless hiking, I finally, my curiosity got the best of me, and I started asking her questions.
“Ok, I know that you planned to escape, but what's your plan now? … Also, why did you choose to do it here, and now?”
I was about to ask her another question, but I decided against it so she could have time to answer. She was quiet for a minute, then answered.
“My plan, for your information, is on a need to know basis. Right now the only thing you need to know is that I'm planning to take down the Diamond suit. You’ll, er, come in later. You can take it or leave it. The choice is yours.”
I thought about it for a minute. On one hand, I would REALLY love to see the anarchy in flames, and I want to be a part of it, but on the other hand, it sounded dangerous, and I don't know if I can trust her. I knew that I was getting myself into something when I initially joined her, but now, being out here, it felt different. I had the full atrocity of being out of the suits, and now that we've been walking for a while, the scenery has changed, but I felt like someone, or something, was watching us.
I finally decided to answer her.
“I'm coming with you, but at some point soon, you’ll have to be more open with me. Even though it's gotten warmer, I now have the feeling that something is watching us. Just be on the look for something. I've heard there's a lot of rogues that escape out here, and scavenge on things that they can find… like people.”
“Hmm. I've gotten the feeling too, but I haven't noticed anything yet. Come on, let's take a quick break at this small shaded lake for some food and a drink.”
I nodded silently. Once we got closer, I saw there was a nice rock hanging about 3 feet over the pond. I decided to sit there, draping my feet over the water, and Georgia did the same.
It was a small rock, but there was just enough space for the both of us. It was awkward being in such close quarters with someone I knew nothing about. I was trying to think of some small talk to start up a conversation. I just said something, not really knowing what else to say.
“So, uh, how was your life in spades?”
I know, stupid, asking a girl what her life was like when it was clearly horrible, otherwise she wouldn’t blow up 2 walls just to escape. But to be fair, I was under a lot of pressure. I was sitting next to a girl. I'm pathetic, aren't I?
        “It was… horrible.”
She clearly didn't want to talk about it, so I dropped the subject. For about 15 minutes, we just sat there in silence, eating our food. After a little while, we started packing the limited things that we brought. And by ‘we’, I mean her. I didn’t have anything because I was rushed to leave, AKA, I was knocked unconscious for a bit, then was told by Georgia that that was her plan on escaping. I don't even know her too well yet, but I have been trying to talk to her.
“Is there anything you want to talk about? Because if so, I'd gladly talk about anyth-”
I was cut off by something biting onto my leg from the water. I tried as hard as I could to grab onto something, but the rock was too slippery and there wasn't anything else to get a hold onto. Before either of us got too much of a chance to react, I got dragged underwater by the creature that was holding onto my leg. It dragged me deeper and deeper, all while I was kicking and thrashing at the thing, trying to get loose from its grasp.  I was running out of the small amount of air I had left in my lungs, and I could tell I didn't have much longer till I passed out from lack of oxygen.
All of a sudden, it stopped. I had no idea what had made it let go, but I didn't have time to lollygag down there, so I quickly swam up to the surface. When I peeked my head out of the water and opened my eyes, I saw Georgia standing over me on the rock, my bow in hand. I knew I took it off to eat but didn’t think about it. I looked over at the quiver, and it looked like there were a considerable amount less arrows in it, so it must have taken her a decent few shots to hit it. Luckily, arrow making is one of my many specialties.
Before I had a chance to say anything, she held her hand out to pull me up, and I took it. I was very cold, but luckily I had warm clothes on so it wasn't too bad.
“Uhh, thanks, I guess. I really appreciate that you saved me.” I said, stumbling on my words. “You’re, umm, not a bad shot. Maybe I could give you some lessons on shooting.”
She smiled warmly at me. I could see the shine in her eyes, and the brightness in her smile, even after something like that just happened.
“No problem, Leo. That's what friends do!”
