Ocean Blue

Ocean Blue

15 year old Marlinia Flotsam was born on the distant island of Jersey (if your thinking New Jersey i'll end you). She's always lived with her older brother, a surfer who often leaves her alone whilst he's out winning whatever he could get his hands on. On the night of her 15th birthday something enchanting happened, whilst on a moonlight walk she came across a boy, half fish half boy. A merboy. The next day she wakes up with no memory of the night before to find if she's exposed to a certain amount of water her legs will become a tail. Struggling to keep her secret and resisting the want to swim away she must avoid water in an island surrounded by it.

Chapter 2.
the boy

the boy

It was hypnotic and it flowed like water. It was a voice....I think. It sang a luring tune. I heard the melody from across the bay and followed it in a daze. Wandering at least a mile from home I climb some rocks into a cove. I travelled through a mist and then the song stopped, I found myself overwhelmed with darkness and sadness. I sat down and wept not knowing why.
"Why are you crying girl?" A rich voice asked next to me. It was a boy, although I was surrounded by mist I could see him as clear as day. His hair was the deepest black, it was wet and plastered to his pale face and half way down his pale neck. He was flawless and probably the best looking being I have or ever will see. His eyes were a pale grey which mysteriously and magically switched to a deep sparkly blue as soon as his eyes connected with mine. His pale lips pulled into a smile. My biggest fault here wad the fact I didn't see his legs. I don't know what I said next........the next thing I knew I was diving under the water behind him and his slick sliver and dark grey dolphin tail.
