Season 2: Chapter 1 "A New Day Dawns" Yamilette

Author's Note: I know the ending to season one was VERY Anti-Climactic I promise this one will be better. Season one was meant to build the characters themselves a little bit and kill those who weren't needed whatsoever. Thank you for your patience and enjoy


It has been a year since the building crash and I built myself a camp, but it felt unsafe. Every time I came home I had a feeling someone else was there. When the building crashed I was saved. I thought it was my friends but it wasn't. It was grounders. They tortured me for what felt like years. When I finally escaped I didn't have a chance to save my friends, but today I have a way of saving them.

I unsheathe my sword and strike it on a flint starting a fire, then I hide thirty meters (120 feet) away watching waiting for someone to arrive when I heard rustling. I started to sneak closer when I heard voices. I charged as fast as I could and grabbed the first one by the arm, slammed him to the floor and held my sword to his throat. "Nobody move or he dies!" I shouted

Suddenly one of them gasped "Wait Yamilette?" I look at them and realized there were two people. Phoenix and Abby.


"Oh my god Phoenix I'm so sorry!" I got off as fast as possible


Phoenix got up slowly and rubbed his arm "It's cool I guess... Where have you been?! We all thought you were dead!"


I looked away "I wish I was." I took my shirt off showing them the hundreds of scars lining my body then I put it back on "Ten cuts every day... Samantha and John are suffering the same fate... but longer. I was going to save them!"


Phoenix and Abby were horrified then gulped "Welp it just so happens we uh... we have a grounder friend who can help" Abby said


Yamilette's jaw dropped "Are you serious? Who?!"


*Time skip to the bunker*


"Oh so you survived the building huh?! That's awesome!! I'm so sorry some of you died... It wasn't my fault!"


I sighed immediately recognizing Milo after I had come "Yeah yeah yeah... All I need to know is how you can help me"


Milo sighed "Fine whatever not much for talking I guess. Look your friends are most likely being held by trikru if your cuts indicate anything. This means they are going to be overly paranoid and have guards stationed everywhere. UNLESS! A trikru general visits. Then everyone will gather to drink except for those who are unlucky enough to be on Patrol."


I sigh "That's great and all but how are we gonna get a grounder general to agree to this plan?"


I looked around and saw everyone looking at me like I was stupid "Um... I'm a grounder general Yamilette" Milo said


I blushed embarrassed and looked away "Okay then waht're we waiting for. What's the plan"


Milo smiled "Alright! Okay so the plan is once I arrive and everyone starts drinking Seg and Phoenix will cause a distraction while they're doing that Yamiletee , you and Jello will free the prisoners and Birds will make sure there are no stragglers who notice you. Are we clear?" Everyone nodded "Good then let's go"


*Time skip*


I sat with Jello waiting for the gunshots when there was shouting coming from the camp. I looked up and saw a female grounder fighting Milo. She was easily dodging their attacks then she ducked and tripped Milo. While the was falling she grabbed their sword and held it too their neck. We thought we'd have to go in and help them when the female took the sword away and seemed to laugh before helping Milo up then the gunshots went off and everybody ran off. We took our opportunity and ran to the cage where we saw the traitor Jason and Samantha. We opened the cage and untied them. They immediately fell to the floor unable to move. We covered them up and carried them out of the camp and back to the bunker where we waited for the rest of them to return. While we waited we treated to their most recent wounds. "THe grounders... they are such savages... who knows what they did to them" I sighed sadly "Jason was a jerk who was going to betray us but... that doesn't meant he deserved this."


Jello nodded "Yeah that's true... Oh well. They're wounds are bandaged and treated but there's no guarantee there won't be Infections. For now we just wait for the others."


We waited for a bit in silence then I decided to break the silence "What have we become?"


Jello answered my question by reciting a quote "Trying to rediscover who you are is hard when a part of you is missing"


I smiled and recited a quote of my own "But we find more pieces of who we are with each passing day. We just wait for a new day to dawn"
